If it happens this isn't such a bad consolation prize for the fallout of the megafight between Floyd and Manny.

I disagree.
Mosley vs Floyd has been 10 years in the making. Neither man has ever been knocked out.
Pacs been stopped afew times and lost to Morales. Plus he has accusations of roids hanging over him . Now he is taking on a guy who lost to Baldimor so his rep has plummeted and the interest has gone out of that fight.
Mosley vs Floyd is the big 1. Cant wait

Mate I usually agree with most things you say. But yout logic is insane, you could say Mosley was beaton by Cotto who Pac destroyed, how the hell is a 37 year old Mosley who would have been out the ring for 14 months v Floyd be bigger than p4p number 1 against p4p number 2??

Disagree unless you are saying Mosley v. Mayweather will be a more competitive fight in which, I agree.
But first, of course Mayweather v. Mosley > Pacman v. Clottey
Mosley's already tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. And Pac just been accused. Big difference. If anything that makes Mosley not as big of a fight.
Pac right now has a bigger fan base than Mosley. Mosley throughout his career has never been a big ticket seller. Pacquiao is world renown, Mosley isn't.
Pac and Mosley have both lost. How they lost doesn't really matter.
In my opinion Mayweather vs Pacman could have been the fight of the decade, and not just because of ticket sales but because of their styles. No fight could replace it, Mayweather vs Mosley however is the next best thing, with honorable mentions to a Mayweather - Williams.

If it gets made, Shane should be allowed to act on his own till fight night. Let the two joust a little in the media and let it be like fight without money cuts and connections being publicized. Popularity contests, steroid historys, irs audits, its all fair game... but let this be a two man fight.
In other words, KEEP YOUR FCKIN MOUTH SHUT, HOPKINS!!! or run the risk of this fight getting away because some of the golden boy crew were acting like d*uches and and Mayweather walks away because he felt offended, disrespected or ganged up on. Just a word to the wise.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Floyd will find a way for this fight not to happen, and then blame it on Mosley.
He will not get into the ring with anyone that stands a chance at beating him. That zero on his record means more to him than anything. Yes, even money. He doesn't get that the boxing world wouldn't give a $hit if he had a loss on this record, as long as he fought the best. To him, that zero means legacy, more so than fighting the best.
I will be shocked as $hit, if this fight gets made.

I understand that you would rather see Mayweather - Mosley, but the general public, casual, and dedicated boxing fans would all rather see see Mayweather - Pacquaio and nothing you've said provides any evidence to the contrary. Mosley just isn't as well known as Pacquiao and there's much more demand for Mayweather - Pacquiao.
Mosley not as well known as Pacquiao? Hmmm..Gotta disagree with you. I think more people would buy a Pac/Mayweather fight because its #1 vs. #2. But in terms of sheer popularity alone I'd have to say Mosley is a bigger household name than Pacquiao. Remember Mosley was the biggest name right under Oscar for a while.
I may be wrong but I know many more casual fans (people who dont follow the sport but just buy the big ppvs) knew of Mosley back in his heyday than casual fans know of Pacquiao right now (although both numbers are big). Mosley just took a hit in terms of clout, but I dont think his fame ever took a hit. People looked at him differently after loses & PEDs but they cant just forget him.
In my opinion Mosley is even a bigger household name than Mayweather. Mayweather is the bigger draw because of his stature in the sport compared to Shane's, but i'd wager that more people know the name Sugar Shane Mosley over Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I hope this fight happens, an excellent match, and it will be good for boxing. Will it tho... as recent history allows pessimism a bit of a hold on its fruition.
This gets made, it'll be the kind of stuff that'll make people hope that there's still logic in putting faith in the powers that be, in the sport of boxing.

Really? Because where I live, nobody who isn't a boxing fan knows who Shane Mosley is, but almost all sports fans know about Pacquiao. Shane Mosley hasn't been on any of the sports channels as long as I've been watching them, but Pacquiao's most recent fights (from De La Hoya onwards) were all heavily covered. I assume the same is true across the entire country, as we all watch the same mainstream sports coverage.

The casual fans know Shane more than Pacquiao? Are you talking about the casual American fan or just the casual fan (which would mean any racial and ethnic group)?
I made a post here awhile back talking about how massively popular Pacquiao was in Asia when I vacation there during December. Tokyo and Hong Kong are the 2 most advanced and globalized cities of the far east and he was well known on the streets there to the average Joe. Those were 2 cities I was in. I seriously doubt the average Chinese or Japanese or any other Asian group would know who Shane Mosley was. And add to the fact that Pacquiao has fought many Latino fighters from Mexicans, Dominican, and Puerto Ricans where boxing is popular in those countries and I say those people would more than likely know who he is.
On an American level maybe Shane is more well known, but on a global level it's not even close.

In the UK Shane is quite unknown to the casual fan. I force boxing talk on every poor fucker I meet lol and I think maybe 2-3 people have known who he was. Everyone in the UK knows Ricky and they know it was Pac who flattened him in 2 rounds. Along with the Cotto, De la Hoya wins I think it may be the same over the pond?
