Oh and by the way, IMO if Mayorga vs Vargas had taken place a few years before it did Vargas almost probably wins it.

Well they fought each other at the same stage of their careers, both just tired names, Mayorga outfought him the whole way and dropped him a couple of times as well.

The Spinks fight completely ruined Mayorgas work ethic, watch the Trinidad fight, Mayorga was outworking and outboxing Trinidad till he started slowing down, even Roy Jones said the same during his comentating.

Yeah but Vargas was a much better fighter and boxer in his day than he was in that fight. I don't think Mayorga could have beat the Vargas that fought ODH or even the one that fought Mosley the first time.

    I agree.

A prime Vargas would beat a prime Mayorga.

He was bigger, stronger, and a far better boxer.

Would have been a great fight though.

Much better than the sloppy but entertaining match they had at 164 lbs or whatever it was.

At that point Mayorga just wanted it more and was a little fresher.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
