    Why thank you.

But based upon your avatar pic, you might change your mind once you realize that I'm a Floyd hater.

Talking Re: Finally (Lopez - Luevano/Gamboa - Mtagwa)

Did anyone watch the fight last night Lopez vs. Luevano on HBO After Dark?

    What do you think?

I watched both fights last night. Gamboa looked very tasty, he reminds a bit of a younger Cotto to be honest. Mtagwa looked slow and old, and Lopez let him look alot better that he obviously is. I agree with Kellerman though, even though the bloke winds me up almost as much as Lennox Lewis. I did feel Lopez's performance was the better due to what was in front of him. Juanma looked very good for me. I thought the first two rounds though were pick 'ems, I didnt agree with Lederman. Very hard to call those first two rounds, and for me, Steve deserved at least one of them. Lopez took the 3rd through his ring generalship and wider variety of landed power shots, and he looked to start to get into his groove. 4th for Lopez and I gave Steve the 5th when he looked to change his tactics.

The 6th and 7th were all Lopez though. What impressed me the most was his composure with the finish. The uppercut he landed was right at the end of the shot, fully extended and bang on the tip of the chin. He then looked to go upstairs but Luevano tried to tie him up and weather the storm. Lopez calmly switched downstairs and a left and right hook that brought Luevano's hands down. The short right hook upstairs from Lopez was tight and turned over at the last minute, that hurt Steve again, and the following left hook from Lopez was inch perfect and enough to end the argument.

Very impressed with my boy Lopez, I just think I'd like to see him grow a little stronger into 126 before he looks at Gamboa. Lopez did look strong though at 126lbs. But what shocked me was how much bigger Mtagwa seemed to look against Lopez at 122, and how small he looked against Gamboa at 126lbs.

It was also nice to see Miguel get interviewed, he seemed to be bearing up after his tragic loss. I love that kid, he is a pure undiluted warrior and legend in my book. His english is brilliant as well, I appreciate the fact he took the time and effort to learn the language. Tito never did, and I think that hindered him in the popularity stakes outside of PR. As for Miguel, I hope the Foreman fight gets signed soon and the Champ gets a belt back around his waist where it belongs.

Some people say boxing is a matter of life or death, it's not, it's far more important than that.
