WBC super welterweight champion Oscar De La Hoya won't announce his future plans until tomorrow, but Kassim Ouma, who is promoted by Oscar and fights in the same division, may have let the cat out of the bag. According to the Daily Monitor in Ouma's native Uganda, Team Ouma is celebrating Oscar's retirement because it will allow Kassim to fight for the vacant WBC title earlier than expected.

I would retire if I was him. What does beating Floyd do for him? (apart from the $$)

The history books will just read that Floyd was to small for him if he wins. Even though right now PBF is the popular no1.p4p pick, who is going to remember that in years to come if Oscar KHTFO. I don't see any big names on Mayweathers record above 135 pound.
