Never before have I suggested playing Hargreaves, but I though he won a lot of tackles and swept up well tonight

carrick instead of hargreaves, he's a bigger player, but has an incredible pass on him, really good vision and sorry becks would keep his place and lennon would come on after bout 65 mins, i think lennon would be good coming on near the end running at tiring defenses

I definitely think Carrick is the best man for the holding roll, but I would give Hargreaves the nod (never thought I would say that) because he has had 90 minutes playing that roll and we don't want to be making fundamental changes in the knock out stages. Carrick should've started yesterday imo

I think you're probably right about Lennon, his strength is going to be running at tired full backs after about an hour, but I do think that Beckham has 3 functions: Morale, Passing and set pieces and he aint doing squat with any of them at the moment imo. No way he would get left by Sven though

Would like to see Cole go to the byline more, was getting predictable cutting inside towards the end. His left foot aint that bad when he uses it!

yea understandable but as good as it looks and its the same as beckhams wen they hit a cross with the right peg it curls with pace meaning whoever headers it only needs to plonk the bonce in the way and it will ping off, and the soft cross's with there right still have power, but wen they cross with there lefts the ball floats with hardly any spin so unless the attackers running into it he wont get the power needed to head it from 10 yards or further out.

the other reason he cuts in is because if you curl a right footed cross fron the left side unless the defender is behind the ball they cannot head it out, always back to the side or out for a corner, a dangerous ball from the left hand side is a killer which plenty of misakes have contributed to goals

Its OK saying it was Beckhams free kick against Paraguay, and Beckhams cross for the Trinidad goal, but it was also his fault for the first goal and further panic in the box. Its as if no other player in the world can cross a ball. Granted he isnt helped by having Carragher at right back because he wont bomb past him like Neville does, yes his delivery is excellent, and it will always be, but for me there have been periods in every game thus far where he should have stepped up to the plate as captain and dragged the team back into shape, he didnt, he went missing.

The chance was there last night in a game we were drawing 1-1, he should of replaced Rooney. I cant see him getting a chance now unless we are hammering someone by 3 or 4.
