Eric should stay retired if he does not need the money. Nothing to be gained except the ego trip.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Not sure if I'd be up for getting behind him
    But each to his own

Can I just get a check on... MEH (pronounciation), sounds good
Well if I was to smash you in the face and someone was BEHIND you, they could SUPPORT you, so you did not fall on your arse where I could stomp the eyes out your head.

The verbal equivalent of a shrug of the shoulders, is "Meh"

A grudge match with MAB would be his best option, maybe at 140. Anything else is stupid. Does he expect to be champion again, and in a loaded welterweight division. I would actually like to see Morrales and Barrera mix it up one more time.

nope, true fans/friends would be able to stand up and say, you need to keep out of boxing for your health and safety.

I am a huge Morrales fan and I think that the retirement would effectively be better for him. Still, I will be glad to see him back on a ring but I am really not certain about the good aspect of that return.

Eugh, I love Erik, the man embodies everything I love about boxing, but really he should have retired after he TOTALLY SCHOOLED Pacquiao. And he should have DEFINATELY retired after the second pac fight.

It was obvious when he fought that he loved a brawl. And it seems he loves fighting too much for his own good. And coming back at this weight? I don't think this comeback will last long, Although I'm sure Amir Khan will jump at the chance to fight him. A notion that makes me want to puke my guts up.

I'd like to see him fight again. But ONLY... I repeat... ONLY... against Barrera.

No problem if its against a 15-22 type journeyman.

Alfaro is not a welterweight either but he is 23-5 with 20 KO's at just 26 yrs old. That's a little dangerous IMO specially that he has a TKO win over Corley. and he will come very motivated for this fight i presume.

We don't need this. Erik is an ATG and has nothing at all to prove. He will end up hurt if not careful!

Morales should have made an arrangement with Barrera for them to unretire and do an exhibition match. Other than that I don't see any compelling reason for him to return to boxing. He already has a hall of fame career and, so far, the only boxer to have beaten Pacquiao while the later was at or near his peak. It will be a pity if he gets remembered as someone who was beaten up in a one-sided mismatch.

The guy needs to check himself before he wrecks himself. He was a great champion and just needs to call it quits.
