Sad NAdal had to pull out; that was very entertaining while it lasted. Nadal's style of tennis isn't conducive to a long career, the wheels are already falling off. I hope he gets back soon. Andy playing very well right now and should take Cilic; and he's not exhausted after this match with Nadal. Fed and Novak playing awesome too; tough to pick a winner but I think Novak wins this again. Hell the Tsonga/Novak match should be awesome....could go 5 sets and I still always wonder about Novak's health; actually going to go ahead and pick Fed to win the AO

And how about my girl Justine Henin on her first major since her comeback? I'd be over the moon if she wins this thing; but Serena the cape buffalo is looking very dangerous and actually fit as hell; and there is no love lost between those 2. Should be a gret final on the women's side if it plays out right.

I'm just watching Novak/Tsonga now... The first 2 sets Novak looked good early with breaks in each, but then Tsonga broke back and it was pretty much completely even through those 2 sets, and only the tie break setting them apart to get 1 set each.. Although Novak was having a meltdown at the end of 2nd and start of third, looked like Tsonga was going to run away with it, but the Novak just demolished him with Tennis that i'd put against Fed or anyone else left...
But 4th set his health done him in with bad stomach and he's stuggling to even win a point..

So 2 even sets going each way, and 2 demolition sets going each way, the 5th could be a firecracker..

Good for Tsonga...at least Novak didn't retire and start agonizing around woe is me LOL...Novak has always had health issues and he'll never rech his true potential because of it; credit though to him for hanging in there and making Tsonga beat him. Fed playing beautifully right now; not sure what happened to Davydenko, maybe the bookies talked to him again after that second set and he needs more money

Anyone see the Serena match? Lost the 1st set bad, down Love-4 in the second and still came back and won. That girl is always dangerous and can never count her buffalo ass out of any match. I hope Justine puts a whooping on her; they've never met in a final and assuming theyboth get through the 2 chinese girls it will be a great final, though Serena's clutch serving, 1st serve points won and her physicality are in better form than Justine's. Serena's never won a major if Justine was in a tournament so I hope they meet; no love lost between those 2. Funny if the two China girls meet in the final LOLOLOL

Andys through to the final. Dont wanna jinx it but he looks in good enough form to at the very worst give federer a run for his money,

He missed out at the US come finals day because of fatigue and the fact he had to 5set a lot on his way to the final. This time round when he does inevitably meet federer his gonna be as fit as a fiddle and is definitely on his A game.

    Bring on murray-fed sunday morning

PS:Quality posting by BigH it has to be said. Give me half hour with serena and she`ll be foaming out of every hole

Murray is going to win it, he has maintained his form all the way through the tournament and will be well rested. This is the year Murray begins to take over at the top.

It willbe the same old story. Fereder gets beaten occasionally in these shitty little ranking tourneys but come the slams...the guy is a different gravy.

I would imagine fed will murderMurray come sunday morning.

You're right about Fed being different in Slams, but this might be quite close. Del Potro managed to beat Fed in The US open final, so you never know. I'll go for Fed in 4 sets

I think there is more chance of pompey beating the drop this season than Murray beating fed. Like you say H he may scrape a set off him but Fed will be too strong.

Im going with Murray in 4.

Saying that though Federer has played his best tennis in theis Open for over 12 months.

Like I said in an earlier post Federer has been shaky even in the slams in the last 12 months might sound a bit retarded as he won two of them but the French he had a comfortable draw and no Nadal, Wimbeldon Roddick bottled it at a set up and 5-1 up in the second set tie break, this time last year Nadal beat him in the final and Nadal was very average I honestly think Federer thought he had missed his chance to equal/beat Sampras record 12 months ago hence the tears he saw that Nadal was quite average in that final but still beat him, then he seemed to do a mini bottle job of his own when he was taking Del Potro to school in the Us Open final.

So in truth Federer has been noway near his solid best over the last 12 months, but he has imo played his best tennis in this event for a very longtime.

    Should be a cracker.

murrays only hope is by just going for it early doors and looking to expose any potential fatigue in fed

Has to win the big points and has got to be brutal when those break points do come along. Even with all that he has to hope federer suffers some kind of mini emplosion and the occasion gets the better of him.

Ive got federer to win it in 4
