I dont know about Briggs being chinless. He did stand up to Foreman for 12 rounds and got a lousy decision just for standing up.

Well pretty much anyone can look "quick and powerful" vs the guys he has been fighting. The fact is, Shannon has ALWAYS been timid vs power punchers and Wlad will scare the shit out of him as soon as the jab lands. Shannon at 270+ pounds won't be able to last long vs Wlad.

Shannon has been out of shape since the Brian Scott fight, he weighed 253, in his last 4 fights he has gotten as high as 273.

Yes he has KO'd people but honestly who the hell were they? Abraham Okine? Yeah you really demand respect with a win over that guy.

I'm disappointed in this fight but I will LOVE to watch Briggs get his ass beat into submission. For fighting the bums he has fought he talks a bunch of shit....behind James Toney he's the heavyweight that needs an immediate ass whippin

Wlad needs to establish the jab immediately. Once that happens, this fight is over.

I think the 1st right cross of his that lands THEN the fight is over.

Wlad's jab is tip top, no need to worry about that. And having seen Shannon fight bums lately we know he'll try to pull some goofy S*** to win this fight. WHY? well here are a couple of reasons...

1. Briggs is old and hasn't fought a puncher since the DEVISTATING loss to Lewis

2. Briggs hasn't beat anyone with any skill since GEORGE FOREMAN (whom he luckily got a majority draw with)

3. Anyone who beats Wlad has to either wait his stamina out or jump on him and blast him out....either way you have to hit hard and you have to take shots....Shannon will jump on Wlad because he's scared of being hit so best to just swing for the fences and MAYBE get lucky than actually deal with the pain that jab has waiting for you.

of all the friggin fights for Wlad this is what they come up with!!!!!!!!!!! What happened to UNITING THE TITLES!!!!!!!!!!!! this division had the opportunity to do something positive and then Wlads first fight after beating Byrd is this SHAT!!!!!!! Briggs is a bum....He needs to keep beating up d-class fighters and let the champs sort this out...but if the HW division wants to keep losing interest in it this is how to do it...what next....Valuev/Ruiz again?.....this just sucks.....balls....it sucks balls....

I'll agree that Briggs' career has become somewhat of a joke...but Talking about Wlad as though he is anything more than an underachiever is a bit premature...remember Briggs was KO'd by Lennox after giving LL some trouble...Wlad was knocked sensless by Brewster and Corrie Sanders hell Sanders was/is retired and took a payday to knock Vladdy out...Wlad hardly looked like a world beater getting knocked down 3 times by Peter...so I think finding a mid-level fighter with good boxing skills like Briggs is a wise choice for Manny and Wlad...I'm sure Wlad's camp expect Briggs' to run out of gas after 3or4 rounds and Wlad to take him out...either way its a wiser choice to go after a Briggs type of opponent than to go after a fighter that has a great deal of heart, that is if Briggs comes in at his weazing, gasping 260....If Shannon comes in 230 ish Wlad is in trouble because we are talking about someone with skills, excellent power and a better chin than Wlad...

Briggs ate it 7 times vs Lewis...Briggs has only gotten older it's not like he's gotten better. At this point I would again put Wlad in with ANYONE he'll be ready to kick ass. Seems as soon as he throws his right cross the fight is over....he hasn't had to throw the left hook which I think is his best power punch, his jab is his best punch
