Plus the fact he was working on trying to get out of his contract with TOC, who was probably one of the worst promotional companies to be stuck with. He then got out of that contract, got a real manager, and then they had to negotiate with different promotional companies for the best deal, and that takes time. It took 3 months to finally get a deal with Golden Boy.

He's been out as long as Floyd's retirement. 16 months now. So he was scheduled to fight on the Berto/Mosley undercard, why not reschedule with the same opponent? Trust me, Sergio has been begging them to get him into the ring ASAP!!! He told them that he didn't care what card, and that it doesn't matter if it doesn't get televised, just get him on a card, but Golden Boy told him they don't have room for him until March. He's at GBP's mercy basically, just like he was at TOC's mercy. TOC didn't live up to their contract of getting him at least 3 fights a year, that's how he was able to get out of his contract, but that took time. He HATES that he hasn't been able to get fights.
