Guys, most of these people are as American as apple pie? To be Irish, you need to have at least been born there! They may have irish roots, but that is like calling baller27 a monkey. (Damn)
Taking the same, logic, they are actually all African because that is where the human race originated !!!
get some real paddys, not yanks who think they are Irish!!!
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
BEST IRISH FIGHTER NOT TO TURN PRO -............
Bartley Gorman. he was an undefeated and well known bareknuckle fighter, he challenged every fighter in the uk to a bareknuckle boxing match. his brother who bartley described as a heavyweight roberto duran, was so tough that he gave jerry quarry serious trouble in sparring. he was sent home the first week cos quarry coudn't handle the rugged irish! the guy never took a backward step.
this guy used to go down to other gypsy camps aged about 19 and challenge their toughest fighter and knock em out. guy was also a solid puncher!
Aged about 28 he won the well known title "king of the gypsies" and the challenges used to pour in. Gypsies used to challenge him at the most unexpected places like a party, a funeral.
he fought a dangerous gypsy fighter in 1997 when bartley was about 50, this guy who he was fighting was a tough nut. anyways, this guy henry francis, got bartley drun k chatted to him all night and then,....CHALLENEGED HIM, they had a tear up for about 5 mins before the police split it up.
the irish have alot of heart, they born to fight, their fights usually lasted way over an hour, face bloodied, pride on the line meant alot to em!
You could buy his autobiography! this guy even wanted a fight with ALI, he honestly believed he'll take ali.
Steve Collins, Barry McGuigan and Wayne Mc Cullough.Originally Posted by magee

no but he's irish and i thought i'll mention him
i mean you tell me which other irish fighter took on all comers in streetfights consecutively for like 25 years just for the title of king of the gypsies.
apart from the gypsy bit he is without a doubt the best irish boxer/fighter not to turn pro!![]()
Im from Dublin but there is just as many of them in england
alot of gypsies used to come into a gym and train just for bareknuckle fights
when you sparred them they would just come runnign out you, very tough but didnt know how to box.
one you showed any skill at all they didnt know what to do
Bernard Dunne is special, he will be champ, lovely fighter! Would recommend a book ' the fighting irish', has all the fighters from early 1900's onwards and is a good read.
yeah Dunne's gonna be huge IMO, great confidence with fast hands and good power,Originally Posted by magee
can't wait till he fights Micheal Hunter hopefully its in the Point, haven't had boxing there since Naz
fought there!
Damn! take it easy mate ! LOLOriginally Posted by X

I dont mean to sound to harsh or out of line, but there isnt much of anything comming out of Ireland atm...So to have an Irish/American on the list should make the Irish jump for joy that they are even represented!!!
Good Day,
Coach
