Wow this is unreal, I think Khan is a cock. But the stick he is getting for fighting a fighter like Marquez is unreal. On paper this is probably a 50/50 fight, well the bookies have it priced up 8/11 Khan 11/10 Marquez quite even in the betting market.

Khan v Marquez is a great fight for Khan's us debut.

Khan-Marquez pisses all over Khan-Maidana/Bradley. Maidana/Bradley are nobodies compared with Khan/Marquez. Simple as.
Only in ratings and notoriety. Bradley is BY FAR the most accomplished fighter at 140 right now. BY FAR. Maidana v. Bradley at 140 is much more significant for the division than Khan v. Marquez. Marquez hasn't even ever fought at 140 and Khan hasn't fought anyone in the top ten in the division at 140. Be real.

Fenster, it's ok we understand you are a Khan nut-hugger. But, fact is fact, Khan is being protected.
Don't be silly. I'm not a nuthugger of any fighter.

I'm telling you dummies how boxing works. It is about money. Khan earns lots. He has the potential to earn lots more in America - hence HBO and Golden Boy.

Bradley is the top man at 140 but a complete nobody compared with Marquez. Even powderpuff Paulie is a bigger draw than Bradley.

And Khan BEAT the man that beat Maidana. You need to be real, son

I was surprised at that. I'll definitely be on Marquez at those prices

Khan has a weakness, his chin, everyone knows it, but he has great boxing skills, speed etc etc, I would much rather keep watching him in exciting fights against the likes of Marquez, rather than being blown out in a round by Maidana.

At the end of the day I think he beats most guys out there what is the point in matching him with one of the few guys that beat him. Lets make the most out of what we have got, Khan is an exciting fighter why throw him to the wolves.

A Khan/Marquez fight will sell in the states mainly off of the name of Marquez. Khan still is still pretty much a nobody outside of the UK, and his record is full of nobodies outside of a paper belt and the best display of headbutting I have ever seen. I really hope an old Marquez busts him up because I find all the talk and empty hype quite nauseating.
Dont' forget he also beat Oisin Fagan, who has been in with Kid Thunder

That does it then, I'm on the bandwagon!
Can I join? We can watch Khan headbutt and avoid challenges all the way through his career then proclaim him as one of our best

GBP haven't signed Khan to a big contract to watch him get sparked by a blown yp featherweight in his first fight. They must be pretty damn certain that he's going to win if they're sticking him in against JMM on HBO. I'm picking Khan and expect him to put on a show.

But this bit about Maidana not being able to fight Khan for a year or three fights or whatever. It looks like GBP are going to put him in against names who can't knock him out before they go risking him against anybody with a punch. Maidana and Bradley can forget about fighting him anytime soon and if they lose in the meantime, ha.

We all have our favourites Fenster, it's easier to admit it. But, you're right with your arguments about Khan & HBO, even if I would rather see him in with Bradley.

    From Dan Rafael today (ESPN.COM)

    • Maidana agreeing to fight Cayo is part of a plan in which he's agreed to delay his mandatory fight with full titleholder Amir Khan, Schaefer said. "Everything is worked out," he said. "Maidana is going to continue to be the interim champion and we're going to promote three fights for Maidana, including March 27, and it will lead to a fight with Khan. We'll build Maidana here in the U.S. and give him great fights, and the same with Amir. If they keep winning, then you'll have the big fight sometime next year." Schaefer said a fight he discussed with HBO and Maidana, which Maidana is interested in, is a match with the winner of the March 6 Devon Alexander-Juan Urango unification fight, which HBO is carrying. Another one would be for Maidana to face the winner of the planned May 15 fight between Victor Ortiz and Nate Campbell. Maidana stopped Ortiz in June in an upset. Schaefer also said Maidana is open to facing titleholder Tim Bradley on Showtime. "The point is, there are a lot of great fights we can make in the division," Schaefer said. "We discussed the Bradley fight, but Maidana didn't want to fight him at this point, the main reason being is he didn't want to wait to June, which is when I think Showtime's next available date was. But he would fight Bradley too."

Hatton taught HBO a lesson on the rating power of the UK fighter... does khan have that power yet? i really doubt it but you can't blame them.

To be totally honest i really think Khan is getting too much flack as you know I'm one of Khans biggest critics but to be honest this is a massive fight for him and if he comes through it with his chin he deserves major credit.

still think he'll lose but hey no complaints on this matchup from me.

    Come on Khan

HBO protecting Khan by letting him fight JMM, I would want better protection that that. They are marketing him by fighting a high profile fighter and as long as they keep that up and Khan delivers then he will be a worthy champion.

    Pfft.. cheeky sod.

If using perfectly sound reasoning to demolish Calzaghe haters makes me a nuthugger then yeah I am

    Just curious...

Was the reason for you posting this statement just to see how many posters will see how straight stupid you sound in posting this?

Best of display of headbutting you've ever seen? Show me any part of the fight with where Khan intentionally butted your Latin Lover?

Btw, have you ever heard of Evander Holyfield? You might want to save your headbutting comments for him as he was the King.
Didn't he clearly headbutt MAB in the 1st round, which caused the cut ? and really and truthfully it should of been stopped, in the 1st round and declared a no contest, but they purposely waited until after the 4th round to give Amir Khan the win. Which is total BS IMO.

As for JMM vs Amir Khan as i've said before, JMM is no Jr Welterweight. He struggled at Lightweight, he hasn't got the frame to move up like Manny Pacquiao. And there only taking this fight because Amir Khan has all the advantages like Height, Reach, Youth, Speed, Size.

But still it would indeed be a good win for Amir Khan, and it is good exposure in the USA so i can't fault him for that. Many prospects have done the samething.

But at some point i really want to see him, revenge his only loss. No matter what he achieves that loss will be a huge weight on his back. Until he revenges that loss, and really and truthfully. If Kevin Mitchell can do it so can Amir Khan.

But then again Kevin Mitchell does have better upper body movement. Where as Amir Khan is more stable with his body movement. And he's still vunerable to looping shots over the top. With his peak a boo like guard.
