I thought the ending of that Hauser article was odd when I read it. He was definitely insinuating something. Of course Bob Arum isn't the most reliable source in the world. Wouldn't shock me though, you'd have to be pretty naive to be shocked by just about anybody roiding.

Whether or not it's true; does Arum not realize that he's basically admitting that he has no qualms about promoting cheaters?

I wouldn't be surprised about anybody taking PEDs in boxing. Boxing doesn't want to disclose this or clean it up. It will damage the stars of the sport. They are the ones who draw the casual fans to buy into boxing. But Arum isn't surprising anyone by promoting a cheater and then covering it up. He already showed he would do this with the Margarito situation. How are we suppose to take Arum's word on Pac's situation when he is basically insinuating that he promoted a PED cheat and kept or covered it up.

I knew that DLH had taken something when I read the last few paragraphs of the Hauser article. He is a very thorough journalist, and his sources are impeccable.

That's why you won't find him writing for the Ring anytime soon, but you'll find plenty of pro-Golden Boy twaddle...

One thing for sure: If they want to give boxing some black eyes, they are doing a hefty good job by stabbing each others like that. Do you imagine how MMA and boxing haters will jump on the occasion to say that every boxers are on peds?
That Bob promotes cheaters doesn't surprise me at all after his stupid plea for a new license for the Tijuana Tornado, the guy's all about money, money and money, the rest doesn't matter.

Bob Arum, like almost ALL promoters, is a scumbag. Oscar is no angel either...and it wouldn't shock me if he, along with many other superstars, took PED's. That being said...Arum knows damn well his cash cow Pac has been made to look very suspicious. To make matters worse for Arum and company...Floyd vs. Shane is BY FAR the better fight and most likely the higher PPV seller than Pac vs. Clottey. For a douche like Arum to bring into question someones character is downright hilarious. Shady characters like Bob Arum are all a black eye for the sport.

So people shouldn't be so hard on pac taking roids because oscar and everyone else has taken roids?

I fail to see how this helps the pacquiao situation or boxing in general.

This was my first thought too. Arum is willing to turn a blind eye when his fighting is making him a shitload of money. The sport needs cleaning up big time.

His sources are Bob Arum. In technical terms, he's a fantastic writer, the best in modern boxing. However, all of that is sullied by the fact that he's effectively sold out and become Bob Arum's bitch. The Ring is not pro-Golden Boy, it's just that unlike vast swathes of the rest of the boxing media, most of their writers are not in Bob Arum's pocket.

I don't know if Oscar has taken something, but this has done nothing to make Manny look any more innocent. If Oscar has, it would certainly explain his 'forgiving' attitude to Shane's cheating.
