I really wish people would stop going on about how Marquez struggled at 135. He ko'd two of the top guys who had previously never been stopped. The reason he didn't look as good is because he chose to go life and death with them, much like he did in the first round against Pacquiao, only the 3 knockdowns made him change his tactic.

So to say he'd be ineffective at 140 is a little bit silly...especially against somebody with supposedly the weakest chin in Boxing.

I also wish people would stop going on about how we need to see him in with a puncher. We've already seen it, and he go ko'd. Him beating another puncher doesn't prove anything really. His chin is never going to improve so unless he develops unbelievable defensive skills (which i doubt), he will always have a chance of being Ko'd by anyone....not just a puncher. So if he was to beat Maidana he'd go to 1-1 against punchers. It's hardly going to change people's mind about his chin. There will always be half a chance that he'll get ko'd as it will always be a question of 'if' the opponent connects on Khan's chin.

Even ignoring all that, surely it's more dangerous for him to fight a lighter hitting puncher who has the skills to land much more frequently...like Marquez? I mean it's not as though Marquez is feather-fisted.

I don't mind people saying they want Khan to fight Maidana, because he is a legitimate contender and he deserves a shot, but the logic in chosing him over Marquez is flawed.

Incidentally, it's interesting to see how many people are saying they don't blame Marquez for not wanting to fight Khan as the risk/reward factor isn't in Marquez's favour, yet when the same scenario applies for Khan fighting Maidana, Khan is called a bottle-job.

Another bad decision on JMM's part IMO

Legacy - Khan presents a title that would make JMM a 4 Division champion. He would be the 1st Mexican to do it.

Money - Besides Hatton Khan presents the most money at 140.
