Yeah I think Wright has seen his best days. He relies on his defensive skills and they are eroding fast. Like Pernell Whitaker before him, the time has come when he will get hit and often. His days on the major stage is over, unless he wants to turn into a stepping stone for other fighters wanting to add a name on their ledger.

I just don't think coming down to 147 is a good move from a longevity standpoint. I guess if he's gonna try, better now while he's still young. But, it just seems to really age fighters... I agree that 154 is the place for PW.

But whatever, I'm just kinda getting tired of the whole "nobody will give me a fight" whinefest. It seems like so much Bull Shit, when he really hasn't acquired superstar status.

If he'd just stay put and hold a title, he'd get mandatory challengers. Then it's up to him to look spectacular against them. If he did that, then he'd start to generate real interest and pull. He could sit there at 154 and might even get to play king of the hill just like PBF has done at WW. Basically entice WWs to come up to challenge him. Or on the flip side be like Pac, and entice MWs to drain themselves coming down.

For some reason he has it in his mind that he's different than anybody else, and can move up and down with no consequences, and that he should get some kind of award for that. Who knows, maybe he's right...?

Williams is playing this smart; he will go for the winner of Floyd/Mosley or Pacquiao. Let's not kid ourselves, Floyd and Pacquiao will never happen. Williams versus Floyd, Mosley, or Pacquiao sells and is less dangerous (not necessarily easier) than a Pavlik or Martinez fight.

Williams will lose if he goes back to Welterweight. People conveniently forget that he faded badly over the second half of the fights against Margarito and Quintana because he struggled making the weight. He couldn't be bothered to make 154 for Martinez which apparently would have been easy if he's 'still a welter' as his team claim.

If he fights Collazo, I would not be surprised if Collazo pulls the upset & if there's good odds, I might just put a bet down on it.

He's living in a fantasy world if he thinks he's gonna get a fight with PBF or even Pac. Maybe Mosley would give him a shot, since he said as much...

I agree with the struggle to make weight for welter even though he looked good in the 12th against Margarito, but he was training to make 160 to fight Pavlik, until Kelly became a ghost, backed out and Martinez stepped in with 3 weeks until fight time.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
