I certainly agree that Dirrell winning makes the fight with Ward more intriguing especially if Ward loses against Green because they'll be fighting for a spot in the next round, but I, like you, am a big boxing fan. The truth is Abraham is a bigger figure in boxing on a global scale than Dirrell is by a long shot. Abraham is a growing commodity after his destruction of Miranda and Taylor on American television. Moreover, the crowd will be predominantly Armenian, pro-Abraham crowd because Darchinyan is fighting on the same card and it is only an hour away from the biggest population of Armenians outside of Yerevan. Add to all this that Dirrell has almost no fan base at all and I think a credible argument exists that it is in Showtime's interest for Abraham to continue to win.
That's some good research you've done there.
Vic is arguably top of the bill. And he's obviously no big star. How many seats does this joint have? I bet it's not more than 2500.
Dirrell is beyond a nobody. He makes Frochy look like Floyd.
I didn't do any research. Growing up in LA, you can't help but know that there is a big Armenian population in Glendale and they come out to support Darchinyan. Abraham isn't as well-known. It is a small venue. Good for this event. I bet it will be a fun card to see.
You forgot to respond to my opinion that it is as much in Showtime's interest for Abraham to win as Dirrell because of his growing fan base. Couple that with the fact that the crowd will be pro-Abraham, he has just as good of a chance at getting the decision as Dirrell.
You need to lighten up man.. the "research" comment wasn't an insult, i was giving you credit for pointing out it was a strongly populated Armenian area - hence Vic on the bill and the obvious connection to AA.
And to make things clear.. My comments about "Showtime bias" or "hometown decisions" are purely tongue-in-cheek. A backlash against all the fools that claim all promotions, officials, judges and Refs outside of America are incompetent/corrupt. That cry robbery everytime a close fight goes against them.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
