First of all I agree with you El Terrible Bojado had raw talent but no drive to make himself the best he could be, but David Haye whether you like it or not, is in the top 5 HW's in the world and beats all the rest for me with the exception of "maybe" the Klits. Not sure about them as I think the fight with Wlad is basically a case of who connects on who clean first and with Haye's speed and lack of roboticness I do favour him, Vitali on the other hand I feel causes Haye more problems due to his good punch resistance, but he has started to show signs of decline and I think he may be ready for the taking for a young, fast powerful HW like Haye!

Look it's simple, you can big up the guy all you like but where is he now? He got beat by an old man in Leija and he faded away. Great fighters don't do that. Fuck, good fighters don't do that.

At least with Haye we have a wait and see factor. Where as with Bojado his career is what it is, done and dusted with little to talk about other than his hype being destroyed by an old man who then went on to get smashed up in his next fight. Who cares.

Amir Khan had a great amature career and looked brilliant beating up bums and blown up has beens and now has a god damn title. Shall I start screaming that he's brilliant? FUCK NO!

i get what you're saying, but the way i took it is, everyone (major TV networks like ESPN, HBO, Showtime, his promoter) were putting money into him, building him up to be a star, investing money into the guy's future, and then the dude just basically half asses everything in his career, so basically all the promoting and TV slots were a waste of time and money, he wasted a golden opportunity, an opportunity that many others desperately need and would probably kill for

Sure, but my response to that is basically the same. Because other people would kill for the exposure he was getting, he had some obligation to please the networks, fans, or promoters? Boxing is a cutthroat business, of course it's packed with guys who would quite literally kill for all kinds of things, that doesn't mean anything when it comes right down to it. The kind of mental toughness it takes to really go somewhere in the sport is just as if not more important that physical tools, Bojado didn't have this, or didn't care to acquire it. I really don't see how you can fault the guy overly for this, anyone who gets in the ring against semi decent fighters time and again is putting their neck on the line, he obviously just didn't have the tenacity to keep on with the sport. It happens to all kinds of athletes in basically every sport, boxing is just as mentally challenging as they come.

Yeah it's really pathetic to expect results or at least EFFORT from someone who is PAID to do a job and paid a lot more and a lot earlier in his career than let's say, oh I don't know someone like Glen Johnson.

There are guys out there busting their asses and that EARN every penny they are paid in boxing and they aren't paid nearly as much as Bojado was and they weren't handed soft opposition to fight. Miguel Cotto was in the same position as Panchito Bojado but he took risks and came through with wins.
