i am new to the sport & b4 getting into watching it thought that the guys in the ufc were just thugs beating the brains outta each other, after watching the 1st series of the ultimate fighter re run last year on espn i started watching the live events also. after reading what mir said i was pretty sickened by it. yeah he might hate the guy but to say shit like this is very bad for the sport!

Most MMA practicioners come from a traditional martial art back ground so to say that they are thugs is just an uneducated opinion, something i even thought in the early days.

This is what i mean about the work Dana and co have been doing to educate the public and then stupid things being said by the likes or Mir and Brock to give the haters further amunition. Im sure everyone on here has had to defend MMA to someone they know at some point!

The UFC started as a platform for the Gracies to show that BJJ was the best martial art in the world when Royce won the first UFC.

So after all that rant, yes Frank Mir is an idiot who says stupid things, he is a bloody good mixed martial artist though!

i agree after watching the way they train i have alot of respect for them as i always believed boxers trained the hardest after seeing wanderlei silva train i have changed my mind, also unlike most boxers almost non of them in the UFC dodge each other (correct me if i am wrong here)
