Prizefighter - Tonight SS1 - Who wins?

Well if we look at who's in the tournament, how they are looking form wise and their prices.

Steve O Meara - Just looking in Boxing News this morning and in their poll the voters have him a 33% winner. Now I think they have just taken a look at his record and just voted on the fact he is unbeaten and not really taken any note of his opposition. He has only beaten 2 fighters who have more wins than losses and neither had a good record. He also seems to lack any real power in his shots and the Bookmakers don't see him as a threat with Ladbrokes offering a best price of 7/1. My opinion small outside chance at best.

Bradley Pryce - Again looking at Boxing news they have him second in the poll with 29%. For me this is someone with a genuine chance, but it's less than a year since his crushing defeat to Matthew Hall and he has only had one fight since against more of a middleweight (but lacking in power) Journeyman Michael Monaghan. To be fair though he won every round bar one which was scored level. The Bookies Favourite and if you go with Skybet you can get a very good 3/1. I think he has a very good chance, especially if he wins his first fight!

George Hillyard - 14% of the votes in Boxing News, don't know how he's got so many votes as I give him next to no chance. Fair enough he is naturally bigger than most in the tournament, but he lacks quality when compared to some of the others tonight. I don't see him beating Prince Arron in his first fight although he does clearly have the better power in the matchup. The Bookies agree with me on his chances of winning though and 3 of them including Ladbrokes have him at 25/1.

Neil Sinclair - 8% of the votes in BN. Now if he was in his 20's i think this would be his night without doubt. He was a real good boxer/puncher but since stopping Pryce in 8 back in 2003 has not really been the same fighter. He has been stopped 5 times in his 7 losses and is 36 years old now. If he manages to get by Pryce though I see him winning. Only thing is Pryce is a lot more mature now than when he was beaten by Sinclair and I would have to go Pryce to win the rematch. Bookies have Sinclair second favourite and BET365 have the best price of 4/1.

Martin Concepcion - 5% of the votes in BN and my value for money bet. Yes he is very chinny at times but he can also punch. He faces unbeaten but as already mentioned very untested Steve O'Meara in his opener and I think his experience against the likes of Pryce and Alfonso Gomez will serve him very well in that fight. Not to mention the fact that he KO'd then unbeaten Matthew Hall in round 1 back in 2007. I'm not by any stretch saying he will win but with BWIN.com offering 13/1 I amy be tempted to havin a fiver on him.

Danny Butler - another with 5% of the votes in BN. Of course he has the size as he is a MW and he also may have an advantage as he has already fought in the MW Prizefighter so this is nothing new to him. Only thing is he is not in great form coming off 2 straight defeats although it has to be mentioned that he fought Darren Barker on 2 days notice after only fighting Darren McDermott 2 weeks earlier. I see him gettin past Brett Flournoy but not getting any further and once again losing out in the semis. 3rd favourite with the bookies though with quite a few including PaddyPower offering 6/1.

Brett Flournoy - 3% BN votes. Now I have to be honest and say I know nothing of this lad but I can see he is undefeated but very very inactive. In fact he has not fought properly since 2008 and though he was having a fight in October it was called a N.C. due to the medics having to leave ringside to see to another fighter who had collapsed in the dressing room. Now looking at his weights he seems small for LMW although he is 5'10. I don't, looking at his record though see him getting by Butler. I could be way out here but I know where my money will go in this fight. Boylesports and a few other have him 14/1 to win the whole tournament.

Prince Arron - Again 3% of BN votes. At only 22 it's suprising to see that this young amn has been in with people like John Duddy and Anthony Small already and though he lost to both he can only learn from that kind of experience. Hehas been quite active too since turning pro in 2006 but I don't see him beating Concepcion, Pryce or Sinclair although I think he beats Hillyard in his opener. Bwin.com have him 13/2

Would like Sinclair to win this, only for the fact we bumped into him after a Hatton fight in Manchester many moons ago, ended up on the piss with him and a couple of his buddies, was a cracking night and a top bloke to boot.

Got to really favour Pryce to win or Sinclair as my 2nd pick.

I can't have Conception (understand the 13/1 for those that do fancy him though). I think O'Meara, even though he lacks power and has fought nobody, is a tidy enough boxer to get a result in the opener.

im not saying pryce is a better fighter

but while sinclair has been fighting up and coming prospects over 6rounds, pryce has been in 10/12 round wars with good solid fighters.

I can promise you a hell of a lot of fight fans know the name bradley pryce over neil sinclair
