For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

its gotta be a piss take
Ricky has nothing to do with the firm of solicitors, it's just coincidence they have the same name therefor they asked Ricky for voiceover for a tounge-in-cheek ad, to which he obliged![]()

Spot on, just been speaking to Ray Hatton for well over an hour and discussed this. There is also a retirement home opened in Hyde called Hattons, this has nothing to do with them either, but Ray got stopped in the street the other day by someone saying they wanted to put their Mum in Ricky's old folks home.
Also, Rick was quoted yesterday in an interview in Tenerife saying that he has fallen out of love with boxing. It should hit the press tomorrow. I doubt he'll ever fight again. And I'm glad of that.
Some people say boxing is a matter of life or death, it's not, it's far more important than that.

that really is great news mate cheers for sharing
for me he aint got it anymore and to take an easy finish fight and possibly struggling or losing to a sub standard fighter wouldn't do him or his loyal fans much good.
no shame in losing to the 2 p4p best fighters of this era and he is a very rich guy now so why risk his health by continuing.
GOOD CALL RICKY![]()

How on earth is that great news
A great fighter deciding at 31 to end his career, and please dont give me that he`s a shot fighter crap, the second best performance of his career was not 6months before the pacquiao fight and only now are we actually learning how good a boxer malignaggi actually is.
Had hatton of been outboxed and demolished for 12rounds then fair play he is a shot fighter, instead he got caught out in the moment hit hard very early on and never recovered. That doesnt indicate that a fighter is past his prime!!
one dangerous horrible bloke
To be honest, I felt the Mayweather fight finished him. He took a lot of punishment & losing that 0 must have had an effect. However, I still think he could be competitive, but just probably not with the best. I wouldn't mind seeing him in with Marquez or Khan just for the level of publicity it would bring the sport over here. Otherwise he could fight someone like Zaveck at 147 & easily take his belt. He's still too good for guys like that.
You misunderstand me. I'm not saying he was finished pre-fight, but I think he took some major punches & the psychological effect of losing for the first time may have been worst the physical effect. I'm also not saying that it's to do with Mayweather, I personally think that Hatton actually fought about as smart & effective a fight as he could, he simply came up against a far more talented foe. I think a better way of saying what I meant was that he left something in the ring that night & to me in his subsequent fights he hasn't looked the same fighter.
In contrast, against Pacquiao I felt he fought a truly stupid fight, however even if he fights to his best, Pacquiao probably wins. The point I'm making is he can still be competitive, but people shouldn't expect the Hatton circa 2007, he's not the same level of fighter any more.
