Really? So it's bad for the champion to request (especially after the CHALLENGER ducked Wladimir) that the challenger earn his title shot?

Sure there's a ton of money to be made off of this fight which is why BOTH Klitschko's tried to fight this punk.

Now why would the now current WBA title holder have ducked them if he wanted to fight them so bad to begin with
Let's boil this down, heavyweight boxing is not a spot of "honor" or "deserved" shots. It's a sport of money, every time in the ring could be your last so you're a fool if you don't take big paydays when they are available. Haye backed out of the earlier fights because he wanted more money and the Klitschko's low balled him because he had no belt. Now with the WBA belt David commands more money, simple. From what I've seen it's only David Haye talking about unifying the titles, why isn't Wlad? You saw the confrontation with Wlad telling Haye "to get in line"..WHAT LINE?!?!? This is the only heavyweight fight (except for Wlad v Vitali that will generate any interest. Or I guess Wlad v Eddie Chambers is more exciting to you?

The only money haye was going to get after accepting a shitty deal from Klit was the money generated from Setanta... when they went bust he was getting almost literally no money for the fight.

Haye did something i WISH these other heavyweights would do. He went after a champion NOT NAMED Wladimer or Vitali. Seriously there are other people to fight with belts. Haye actually went out there and fought the giant and beat him for the WBA title.

These are things I wish the "heavyweight hopefuls" would have done instead of just jumping for a shot at either Klit when neither are ready for it.

Haye has done the only smart thing in the heavyweight division in a long time.

He could either come in the heavyweight division with no name to the heavyweights, get beaten by Wladimer and then go back to nothing and the hype is gone.

Or even if he beat Wlad he'd face vitali then Wlad again as per the contract and for crap money.

What does Haye do? He says screw it and goes and fights Valuev. And now he is the WBA Heavyweight champ making his first defense on HBO. While Wladimer is fighting Chambers and him and his brother can't get fights on HBO anymore, so they fight on small time PPV or on ESPN. So who got the better end of that?

Haye actually decided to MAKE A NAME in the heavyweight division and it makes the proposed fight with Wladimer bigger, and better and puts some hype beyond the Heavyweight division.

And anyone who disagrees with that cannot complain about how crap the heavyweight division is. Because according to that logic you'd rather have seen Haye jump in, have small hype for like 2 months, get beat and the heavyweight division be stale again.

What Haye did ensures the heavyweight division some form of hype for the next year or so before him and Wladimer fight.

What Haye did was great for himself, but even greater for boxing. ESPECIALLY the heavyweight division

.....that is the dumbest shit I have read in a long time.

Maybe the next heavyweight hopeful should go after the NABA title holder Fres Oquendo...I think Fijian Heavyweight Champ Mosese Kavika has been ducked for too long!!!!

NEWSFLASH the WBA Heavyweight Title is for people who are IN the heavyweight division but don't want to fight the "A level talent".....FACT

It is not a FACT Lyle. The WBA title isn't what you want it to be because you want to win some sort of argument.

Haye did the smart thing fighting Valuev and getting the WBA title, bringing some excitement to the heavyweight division rather then just turning up at heavyweight fighting Wladimer, losing and then going into obscurity. Then the hype for the Heavyweight division is dead again. What Haye did creates hype for a fight with him and Wladimer or any other heavyweights or hopefuls for the next year or so rather then killing any kind of build up in one fight. And now Haye is fighting on HBO and Wladimer and Vitali fight nobodies on the internet and on espn. Who made the better decision for the sake of the heavyweight division?

But i guess you'd rather see Wladimer beat Haye and the Heavyweight division be in obscurity to the point it doesn't even get on national television? And honestly Fres oquendo is better then the guy Vitali is fighting next... FACT
