Oscar would have beaten Vargas, Gatti (rip) Mayorga and his struggle with Sturm with or without Floyd Sr in his corner; I think Sr is a highly overated Trainer. And Kudos to Freddie for turning down Hatton a fighter whose lifestyle is more important then taking boxing seriously. He should call it a career and and continue the one of barfly.
i'm pretty sure he would, but anyone who says that Mayweather Sr. didn't help with his defense is pretty blind
I think his defense was more solid when he was with Alcazar because he had better movement. It seemed when he got with Floyd he seemed to be more grounded and took more flush shots. He used alot of shoulder roll when he fought Gatti but I didn't see alot of it in later fights. Sturm got through alot with just a jab and Forbes got through and fractured his cheek bone and Pacman tore his defense apart. I'm not trying to start another thread but I really did not see alot of improvment under Floyd Sr.

"If he continues fighting, he's [Ricky] going to jeopardise his health. I would not want to be a part of that," said Roach, who has Parkinson's Syndrome himself.

Roach said he was uneasy about taking on the role.

"I've just asked one of my fighters Gerry Penalosa, to retire. You can't lie to your fighters.

Sound advice from Freddie. It was a great ride while it lasted for Hatton but the party is most definately over.

If this is true then i am not surprised! Outside of the ring Ricky lets himself go with the heavy drinking and take away meals! Roach won't take on somebody with that sort of habit!
Hatton is a british boxing legend and has done Britain proud!

    King Khan will reign supreme!

Forbes and Pacquiao came due to the fact that he was shot, and IMO DLH's defense was plenty sharp against Mayorga, he caught a lot of the punches on his arms and countered nicely
