He should focus Khan on proper challenges. If he thinks that it's not safe for Ricky to fight any more then he most definitely should not be angling for a fight where his fighter can beat the guy up. Roach has a habit of this. When he thinks a guy is on to a losing streak, he decides to stop training them, even if subsequent events prove they are far from shot, he doesn't want to be attached to a loser. He did the same with Hopkins & Penalosa, even though he had originally said he would train Hopkins after the Calzaghe fight, once Pavlik became the opponent he pulled out.

I like Freddie Roach in person, when I met him he was a nice guy, but the fact is he likes to be attached to the big-name guys who he thinks are going to win. I've nothing against him for that, but let's not turn him into a saint for it.
