~This makes it look as though Pac does not want to fight Mayweather.

This is the problem.. Too much pride from each fighter,,, both think they don't need the other for their record to stand out,,, both don't need each other for money,,, neither is going to want to back down regarding the drug testing issue..

The fans want it because it makes THE most sense for BOXING, and for EACH OF THESE FIGHTERS..... They may not be scared to take the others punches, but they are sure scared of something... Perhaps losing to the other, or I don't know..

    This is pathetic childish stuff..

When every man and his dog wants this fight and it makes more sense than any other fight in the whole of boxing at this current moment,,, for a either of these fighters to go on record saying they don't need this fight, is showing they don't care about boxing as much as they should, or used to...

In the end they can do what they want and fight who they want and who's anyone to say that is entirely wrong..

But these two guys aren't fooling anyone with this type of talk... Just sack up the both of you and put on a show for the people who've paid for every PPV and every ticket to put you where you are today.. Loyal people who are still sticking by you.. If you don't want the fight, be honest and give it to us straight... But don't feed us this crap about not needing the fight..

    Doesn't need Mayweather? Maybe.

Doesn't want Mayweather? It's looking more and more that way.

Mayweather came out of retirement to.... rid boxing of Manny Pacquiao because he believes that he is... the face of boxing! Kudos for that, he seems to have succeeded.

The face of boxing, legendary fighter, Floyd Mayweather Jr., likewise wants to clean the sport of boxing through a more stringent measure in the conventions for dope testing. Kudos again... he sure has had these adjustments ready in place and standardized for future events.

Congatulations are in order, for Floyd is quite successful in his quests. I can respect that.

It is too bad tho', lamentable, that not everyone can share the flexibilty necessary to accomodate these new changes from PBF Jr., the "master".

To some inquiring minds, they're quite baffled and stumped. They cannot comprehend that not everyone sees PBF jr as his master, thereby are non conformists to his demands, and are unrelenting with stubborness just to be their own man.

Pacquiao the "little man" is one of these men, now misunderstood with this stance.

Everyone seems to think ill of him walking away from a possible $40 million dollar fight. "Man from the street" says to just compromise his standards, and undergo these tests as prescribed by the master, and so do pad the pocket for more coins.... $40 million coins.

Pac just plainly says no. Clearly he values himself more than the extra coins, and so too values more the struggles and what he has fought for all these trying years, a little bit more.

It is not baffling to me, nor incomprehensible. If boxing owes Manny for even a tiniest bit, they sure could give him that, give him the benefit of a doubt. Respect what he believes.

    I can respect that.

this is the tagalog/filipino version of the interview, this is what actually came out of pacs mouth.

“Baka malay mo baka hindi na ako umabot doon [fight with Mayweather]. Baka mag-retiro na ako. Eh yung Mama [Dionisia Pacquiao] ko, nagmakaawa daw siya para lang ako huminto sa boxing so pag-uusapan namin,”

you have no idea if im still going to fight pbf, cause i might retire soon. my mom has been begging me to stop fighting and i and my family will talk about it.

“Kahit naman wala ‘yung eleksyon, walang pulitlika, depende na sa desisyon naming pamilya. Matagal na kasi ako, matagal na rin sa boxing. Marami na akong nabigay na karangalan sa ating bansa,”

its not about politics and the elections the decision to quit depends on my family. ive been in boxing for some quite time now, and ive already given many honor for our country.

“Syempre after kay Cotto nakiusap ako sa Mama ko, ‘Isang laban pa.' Pinagbigyan niya ako. Sa ngayon, paano pa ako makiusap ulit? Ano bang sabihin ko?”

after cotto, i begged my mom to let me fight one more time. she said yes, but now how will i ask again? what will i say now?

“Talagang mahirap na laban ‘yung nakaraan dahil si Clottey, grabe, puro depensa lang. Matibay din, ‘di naman siya nakikipagpalitan ng suntok masyado sa akin,”

it was a hard fight the last fight with clottey. all he did was to cover up, he is tough but he didnt traded punches with me.

‘Di naman siguro ako maghamon dahil sila naman ang may kailangan. Nakamit ko ang pangarap ko sa boxing ko without Floyd Mayweather in my boxing career so walang dapat kailangang i-hamon sa kaniya,”
“Ako naman open ako lumaban sa kaniya. Anytime ako puwedeng lumaban sa kahit sinong boksingero basta pareho ang timbang, magkaroon ng approval sa bawat promoter. Anytime, puwede ako lumaban basta gusto niya lumaban.”

i dont think i need to call him out cause they are the ones who needs this fight. i have achieved my dreams in boxing w/o pbf in my career. so i really dont need to call him out.

for me im open to fight him anytime i can fight any boxer as long as we are in the same weight. should have approvals from both promoters. anytime, i can fight as long as he wants too.

I'm far from a Pacquiao apologist, but he's right. His legacy is secure without a Mayweather fight. Would his resume look even more impressive with a victory or close loss to Mayweather? Absolutely, but it looks pretty goddamn good without him as well.

I'm not sure how you translated this but it's bad just reading just the first words. It does not portray the humility and respect of his presentation. He is apologetic.

Baka malay mo baka hindi na ako umabot doon the "mo" references "you" but the "Baka malay mo" references "You should know" that Maybe I, might not get there.

There is a big difference in translating words that show his respect for who he is addressing.

Yeah well put, you sort of got that sense from Manny and Roach the whole time imo. Real shame if this fight doesn't happen.

Sweet does this mean we can talk about the rest of boxing now. Pacquiao has done a lot for the sport, if he wants to retire he's earned it. Suspicions aside, he has had an amazing career. If he doesn't want to fight Mayweather, then don't, I just don't want to see another round of failed negotiations that turns members of this board against each other like rivaling tribes over the last scrap of food.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
