this is the tagalog/filipino version of the interview, this is what actually came out of pacs mouth.

“Baka malay mo baka hindi na ako umabot doon [fight with Mayweather]. Baka mag-retiro na ako. Eh yung Mama [Dionisia Pacquiao] ko, nagmakaawa daw siya para lang ako huminto sa boxing so pag-uusapan namin,”

you have no idea if im still going to fight pbf, cause i might retire soon. my mom has been begging me to stop fighting and i and my family will talk about it.

“Kahit naman wala ‘yung eleksyon, walang pulitlika, depende na sa desisyon naming pamilya. Matagal na kasi ako, matagal na rin sa boxing. Marami na akong nabigay na karangalan sa ating bansa,”

its not about politics and the elections the decision to quit depends on my family. ive been in boxing for some quite time now, and ive already given many honor for our country.

“Syempre after kay Cotto nakiusap ako sa Mama ko, ‘Isang laban pa.' Pinagbigyan niya ako. Sa ngayon, paano pa ako makiusap ulit? Ano bang sabihin ko?”

after cotto, i begged my mom to let me fight one more time. she said yes, but now how will i ask again? what will i say now?

“Talagang mahirap na laban ‘yung nakaraan dahil si Clottey, grabe, puro depensa lang. Matibay din, ‘di naman siya nakikipagpalitan ng suntok masyado sa akin,”

it was a hard fight the last fight with clottey. all he did was to cover up, he is tough but he didnt traded punches with me.

‘Di naman siguro ako maghamon dahil sila naman ang may kailangan. Nakamit ko ang pangarap ko sa boxing ko without Floyd Mayweather in my boxing career so walang dapat kailangang i-hamon sa kaniya,”
“Ako naman open ako lumaban sa kaniya. Anytime ako puwedeng lumaban sa kahit sinong boksingero basta pareho ang timbang, magkaroon ng approval sa bawat promoter. Anytime, puwede ako lumaban basta gusto niya lumaban.”

i dont think i need to call him out cause they are the ones who needs this fight. i have achieved my dreams in boxing w/o pbf in my career. so i really dont need to call him out.

for me im open to fight him anytime i can fight any boxer as long as we are in the same weight. should have approvals from both promoters. anytime, i can fight as long as he wants too.

I'm far from a Pacquiao apologist, but he's right. His legacy is secure without a Mayweather fight. Would his resume look even more impressive with a victory or close loss to Mayweather? Absolutely, but it looks pretty goddamn good without him as well.

I am on Pac's side on this one. Pac doesnt need mayweather and shouldnt have to deal with his rediculous demands. If you look back on Pacs career he has never dodged anyone, he has never been afraid to lose. Why would he change when fighting mayweather?

Floyd is the one that is broke and could benefit from the money this megafight would generate.

And to show that I am just not a Pac fan, I think Floyd will beat Pac when they fight. I think Floyd is just being a spoiled crybaby and this is why people dont give him respect.

Don't put an "s" on the word "demand" when it comes to Mayweather. He only asked for an Olympic style blood test while Pac and his team demanded many things.

If you look back on Pacs career he has never dodged anyone, he has never been afraid to lose

He only dodged having his blood tested Olympic style which Shane Mosley had Floyd Mayweather have already agreed to take equally for the upcoming fight.

Floyd is the one that is broke and could benefit from the money this megafight would generate

I am pretty sure Floyd has generated more money than Pac. Has Pac made enough money in just one fight as Mayweather vs De La Hoya?

And to show that I am just not a Pac fan, I think Floyd will beat Pac when they fight. I think Floyd is just being a spoiled crybaby and this is why people dont give him respect

Like it has been said before. Look at Floyd's demand compared to all the demands Pac and his team asked for. Something journalists seem to ignore as well as Pac's suspicious excuses on not taking a blood test olympic style.

well they each demanded at the least 50-50 and that was worked out so financially its hard to say one guy made demands, they both did and it was worked out.

Manny made a gloves demand (I guess, I wasn't keeping up with it at the time) and Mayweather dictated where the fight was going to be by refusing to fight in Dallas, presumably so he could use his hand medicine in Las Vegas. Or maybe he doesn't like Texas, I don't either.

So they basically made one big demand. Floyd accepted and Manny didn't. Floyd looks better.

Even if it was just those three, its 3 compared to just one: the olympic style blood test which BOTH would take. Simple math. Pac makes more than 3 demands, Floyd makes one and even agrees to 50/50 (which is hard to believe). Who is making more demands?

Demands is more accurate when discussing the various aspects of the anti-doping procedures.

He said anyone meaning fighters so don't take this out of context.

Floyd made a lot of money and blew most of it away. So it doesn't matter if he made more money than Manny at this day and time.

And to show that I am just not a Pac fan, I think Floyd will beat Pac when they fight. I think Floyd is just being a spoiled crybaby and this is why people dont give him respect

Don't remember Manny making any major demands on this fight other than Floyd to quit creating controversy based on opinion and not verifiable fact.

I'm not sure how you translated this but it's bad just reading just the first words. It does not portray the humility and respect of his presentation. He is apologetic.

Baka malay mo baka hindi na ako umabot doon the "mo" references "you" but the "Baka malay mo" references "You should know" that Maybe I, might not get there.

There is a big difference in translating words that show his respect for who he is addressing.

geesh im filipino and im not even good at translating it. well the major reason why i tried cause i was also trying to show what pac really meant.

i did somehow messed the first sentence.....

but you translated it word per word and it sounded like he is going to die or something.

the word "mo" is often used as substitute for "nyo" he is after all talking in public. and his message is for everyone listening not just a single person.

so its more like "who knows" cause "you should know" means dapat alamin mo.

You're right, The problem with Pilipino, it that the individual words carry multiple context depending on the application and can only truly be conveyed by the originator. And then we are translating to English which has far to many ways of to saying the same thing. And then we have culture and understood you's and even emotional context.

However the point I was trying to make is Pacquiao's demeanor is apologetic as he addresses the people. I read a few headlines depicting Pacquiao as being somewhat arrogant. I read this thread title and the first translated line and didn't bother with the rest.
