agree, nothing but 50/50 split made sense, but he is right that Manny did make more demands than Mayweather

i totally agree with Chino! mayweather jr. has bent over backwards for this fight to happen. it is pacquiao who doesn't seem to want this fight. and as far as someone saying pacquiao never ducked anybody? who the hell are they talking about? he's been ducking the best dangerous fighters on the planet ever since he beat barrera. first of all, he ducked joan guzman when guzman was still a super bantamweight. guzman even agreed to go up to pacquiao's weight class (super feather) but pacquiao kept his mouth shut. then when pacquiao got an absolute gift decision verses marquez and marquez wanted an immediate rematch, pacquiao ran from him and went up to lightweight. when marquez decided to go up to lightweight, what did pacquiao do, he went up in weight again. pacquiao knows he lost to marquez that's why he wanted no part in a third marquez fight. more recently, mosley wanted to fight pacquiao at 140 and pacquiao wouldn't even talk to him. instead, he went for the ultra conservative joshua clottey, who by the way, is an embarrassment to all the great ghana fighters who are truly warriors. and now, pacquiao never really wanted this fight with floyd jr. in the first place. he made those three demands thinking that mayweather jr. wasn't going to agree to them. then when floyd jr. made his lone demand, (blood testing) it was pacquiao's perfect moment to bail out of the fight. simple as that!

$10 million per pound over 147 was a big joke. I can't believe how many people took that seriously. I bet Team Floyd pissed themselves when they heard it, just like Team Pac were pissing themselves when they came up with it.

When has Floyd struggled to make 147?

It was clearly a reaction to Floyd coming in at 146 against Marquez after agreeing to 144. That's 146. A pound under 147.

    This is a total non-issue.

    LOGIC.

I don't know why the anti-Pacquaio brigade can't just stick to the most obvious attack point, that he refused to take the drug test. After all Manny's dictated to other fighters like Cotto so what's the harm in being dictated to a little here, just take the drug test and move on. But all this other shit is getting ridiculously blown out of proportion (shocker), its not as if Manny demanded it be at 145 or demanded 60/40 or anything major. If I remember correctly in some other post Chino complained about Manny dictating the date of the fight, LOL.

I'm not going to go as far to say or agree that Pac has been ducking fighters out of fear. But he has done his share of picking and choosing just as most fighters have in their careers. Pac doesn't pick fights with slick boxers and this is well known. He feasts on guys who are easy to find and have little chance to outbox him. And no matter what Pac apologists say...Pac absolutely avoided Mosley. Mosley agreed to everything Team Pac asked for. They even tried to shoo Mosley away with the "You have to make 143" catchweight. Mosley agreed, went to Roach's gym and still got denied. But I am not mad at any fighter picking and choosing every now and then. Its a hurt sport and business must still be maximized. Pac only does this every now and then so this is easily respectable to me. Just about every fighter has done this. Some just do it more than what can be overlooked.

I disagree that he doesn't need Mayweather.

There are question marks against almost all of their big wins/fights in the eyes of both fighters detractors.

This is the only fight in which nobody can say a damn thing about the winner of the fight - They will go down as the fighter of this era with no excuses.

For Pacquiao to say he doesn't need Mayweather or vice versa, both are sorely mistaken.

I think each of them has 1 fighter where nothing can be said to take away from the win - Mayweather has Corales when both were up there in the p4p ranks and Manny has Barrera (1st fight).

The rest of the fights are either controversial wins, people make issues about weight or whether the opponent was in their prime.

There are usually for and against arguements for these opponents (rightfully or wrongfully).

Mayweather vs Pacquiao is the fight to secure one mans legacy as THE BEST - They both have a good legacy now but if they don't fight before the end of their careers, people will argue who THE BEST of this era was forever.

Not sure if everyone considers this a big demand but one of Mayweather's demands was to for fight headline Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. instead of the other way around. Pretty sure it irked Pacquiao's camp since he's considered the the no 1. p4p fighter at the moment.

Yeah well put, you sort of got that sense from Manny and Roach the whole time imo. Real shame if this fight doesn't happen.

Sweet does this mean we can talk about the rest of boxing now. Pacquiao has done a lot for the sport, if he wants to retire he's earned it. Suspicions aside, he has had an amazing career. If he doesn't want to fight Mayweather, then don't, I just don't want to see another round of failed negotiations that turns members of this board against each other like rivaling tribes over the last scrap of food.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Put it this way. If Pacquiao had fought and defeated Mosley, the cry would be he fought an 38 year old Shane who was on his last legs and inactive. The new crying point would be he avoided Miguel Cotto a prime fighter.

You know it and I know it. Half to a majority of this forum picked Miguel Cotto to KO Pac, after the fight it was Cotto was a shot fighter that Pacquiao cherry picked. Get the fukk outta here with that bullshit.
