If Dirrell didn't act as if it hurt him and just stood up, then there would've been no DQ. The ref let all the low blows slip, because they didn't really affect AA, so why not do the same with this, admittedly idiotic, punch.

Ref could've given him a break, like he did when he attended AA's cut ... If, like many people say, including me, Dirrell _did_ fake, then he wasn't really hurt, so there would've been no woozyness either.
