Wilt Chamberlain was considered to be the Lebron James of his day. An athlete that did outrageous things on the basketball court just like James. And he wanted to fight a prime version of this guy.

Anyone here thinks that Chamberlain could have beaten Ali? How about if Chamberlain took up boxing as a youngster and stuck to it? Would he still be able to beat a prime ALi? I really wished that Ali would have taken this fight and fought Chamberlain. It would have put any bullshit notion that some great NBA athlete can beat a prime HW champion.

I'd bet my legs that if every NFL athlete were given an entire year to train that the KILTS would kayo all them inside of two rounds within the following year.

NBA, Vitali kayos the entire western conference in three months while WVlad takes the east...

....I think also MLB Hall of Fame Pitcher Bob Gibson and NFL Hall of Fame Running Back Jim Brown were offered deals to box as well.

Both Big Bob and James were intemidating as hell.....but in a boxing ring they would be very awkward. Now sure if they trained their entire lifes in boxing sure they may have been good but hell it's all "if if if if"

And back then, I think Bill Russle would have done VERY well in boxing just because his attitude was more suited for it

God.in.my.corner.....on the money side of things perhaps you're right. If I saw the NBA or NFL or MLB in my future instead of getting punched in the head it's an easy call (well between the NFL and boxing it's a little tougher but the money could be better). But if you think that everyone that was any good at boxing left the gym to go play basketball then you're freaking crazy. There is a lack of depth in boxing right now, surely this is true, but that must also mean that plenty more people are thinking "This could be easy to dominate" and perhaps a few of them will act on it. Deontay Wilder has and hell he may become a very good fighter for us.
