Sad, most of the time these athletes are not very business/finance savy, as opposed to the big wigs on wall street who get away without paying taxes for years and end up only paying coins on the dollar in the end. They do hire accountants but they cant just put 100% trust in them, or they will be the ones that rob you blind or make bad decisions with your money. You have to stay involved, sign your own checks and know what you are paying for.
