Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I saw a few of Duran's fights on the way to the title and his endurance was incredible. The man had no fear and to top it off, he was not only in your face but over, under, around and through your defense. In the second De Jesus fight, he displayed a remarkable defense and boxing skills at 135. After he gained the title he was remarkable improving with every fight. Sorry Floyd!
I just don't know how Floyd could have dealt with Duran's sturdiness. Duran was a MONSTER at lightweight. It would be a fight but I'd have to favor Duran. You know what fight would have been an AWESOME fight at 135? Duran vs Sugar Shane Mosley.
Now that fight would be a barn burner.

Duran would whoop that ass all up and down the ring. Best lightweight ever.
Only fighters to give him trouble:
Shane Mosley
Chavez
Sweet Pea
Meldrick Taylor
"Floyd needs to inject Xylocaine into his balls to gain the courage to fight Pacquiao."
- and I quote from some random guy on the internet

Duran taps that ass. Mosley vs duran @ 135 would of been one of the greatest fights of all time IMO
Good arguments and all. The only problem is Duran isn't the greatest 135lb of all time, it's Benny Leonard. The great Ray Arcel trained both of them during there primes and he said Leonard was the greatest pure boxer ever. He gave him the edge over Duran.
Duran is seen as such a beast (rightfully so) but he was such an under rated boxer as well. Floyd would be running for his bloody life the whole fight. Duran would call him a faggot & a pussy (in spanish of course) and run after him with none stop punching.![]()
Floyd Mayweather Jr would give him fits, Roberto Duran was great at Lightweight. But i still think he would have alot of trouble, Wilfredo Benitez gave Roberto Duran a boxing lesson.
I know it was above Lightweight, but again Wilfredo Benitez is similar to Floyd Mayweather Jr, due to the fact there both great defensive fighters. And Roberto Duran could never get off against Wilfredo Benitez.
But Floyd Mayweather Jr would struggle to keep Roberto Duran off him, and even though Floyd Mayweather Jr did beat Jose Luis Castillo. More convincingly in the rematch, it still wasn't that easy being a 7 rounds to 5 win. which isn't that clear cut.
So IMO if Floyd Mayweather Jr couldn't keep Jose Luis Castillo off him, there's no way he keeps Roberto Duran off him. Who's a better boxer than Jose Luis Castillo and has more power.
I think over 12 rounds it would be pretty close, i think Floyd Mayweather Jr wins the early rounds. Before Roberto Duran's pressure starts to gets to him late, and i think Roberto Duran wins a close but clear cut decision.

Duran at 135 pounds was one of the most frightful thing pound for pound to ever walk into a ring. Duran wins this one.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends
duran snarles and swarms to a late tko or ud over 15 rounds over 12 a def ud for duran. at the press conference after the fight duran simply says next time i keel him
think happy thoughts

I think Mosley would've made a very competitive fight against Duran, but would lose by decision. Chavez would lose to Duran by KO in the middle rounds.
One of the few opponents at one of the few weights where I would say Floyd would almost certainly lose.

Floyd would get Duran into a state of aggravation so early in the fight he would nbot know if he should spit or go blind...But with that being said...The Duran at LW was not the Duran that said No Mas because he became frustrated with Leonards unwillingness to engage.....The LW version of Duran would have stayed on Floyd to the point Floyd would have no choice but to trade with him and that would end his night
DURAN...all day long!!!!!!
Floyd likes to talk shit and get his opponent out of their gameplan, but Roberto Duran would end up baiting Floyd to stand toe to toe with him and he'd batter Floyd!!!! You saw what Jose Luis Castillo did to Floyd in their first fight.....imagine if Duran had been inflicting that punishment, it would have been stopped by the 8th!!!! If Roberto Duran can beat a Prime Ray Leonard he schools the hell out of Floyd Mayweather Jr.!!!
How would Floyd handle the psychological games from Duran? Sure he joked around and made fun of guys like JMM and Hatton but Duran had MALICE in his psychological warfare and it would surely get to Floyd whom I think has a VERY delicate constitution to begin with....Floyd may very well have cried at the press conferences if he was there with Duran.
PBF would have had a better shot vs Julio Cesar Chavez
