caballero should overwhelm yordan. it's amazing to me that just because yordan looked pretty impressive for a whole round and a half against guerrero, that they would think this guy is a great, great fighter. this yordan cat is undefeated because he's fought nothing but thai and filipino bums. i'm sure in a rematch, guerrero would KO this guy if only yordan will move up to lightweight which is where guerrero is going to campaign now.

I know for some reason Guerrero is the people's champion, but don't get it twisted, Guerrero punked out in the fight with Yordan. Really, he doesn't get enough heat for that.

However, I don't know what Yordan's people were thinking putting him into a fight with Caballero. It seriously doesn't make any sense to me in terms of career trajectory. I guess they are thinking that if he could handle Guerrero, he can handle Caballero. Seems dumb.

and how did yordan handle guerrero? in less than two rounds? and what has yordan done since? at least guerrero picked himself up and won the super featherweight title from that african dude. (forgot his name). guerrero may have "punked out" but he knew with that bad cut, he would probably have lost by TKO and he made his difficult decision knowing if he lost that fight he wouldn't be able to secure a higher paying fight to pay for his wife's medical expenses!

That's what I'm saying Guerrero has become the people's champ because his wife is going through some difficult times. Don't give him a free pass because of his wife's condition. He didn't stop that fight because of the cut - many boxers have fought through worse cuts than that - he stopped fighting because he realized he had a bigger challenge than he had anticipated. He wasn't sure whether he could win the fight with the cut even though he could have continued with it.

Why do you think Guerrero didn't immediately seek a rematch? Because the risk outweighed the reward.

Yordan hasn't done jack since that fight, which again makes it more surprising that his people think a Caballero fight is a good business decision...

Cabellero will crush him. Just because Yordan's speed had up Guerrero in that time means nothing. Cabellero is a better fighter & quite a bit quicker.

    rant,

yeah, i agree that by pulling out of the fight with yordan after less than two rounds wasn't in guerrero's character. however, having said that, he did redeem himself somewhat by winning another world title. do i think guerrero can beat yordan? absolutely, but remember, styles make fights. if the fight between robert and yordan would have continued, it would have been a very close affair and i think maybe guerrero might by the later rounds, been able to figure out yordan. if they ever rematch, i think guerrero will definitely know what he's up against and will come in better prepared for yordan's style.

Guerrero knew that he was in for a tougher fight than he had expected and thus he quit. If he felt that he could win it with the cut, he would have continued the fight. He didn't. That is the bottom line.

Either way, I'll be very surprised if Yordan beats Caballero this weekend. Huge upset.
