Manny WAS pound for pound best. Her got the title by default when floyd retired. Floyd's back now so time to give it back.

Also look at the now. Floyd is fighting Shane Mosely, Manny opted to fight Josh Clottey. Nuff said.

    Floyd is the man.
After Manny beat up Cotto don't forget. That was a risk fight, vs Mosley isn't as he knows his style will win.

Cotto who was damaged goods after margarito had taken every bit of man hood from him..... Not to mention the 25 million dollar drug test....

No Mosely's not a risk fight at all, that's why a shit load of people are backing Shane to win...

Even Mosley knows he's going to lose!

It's a risk fight by Floyds standards, certainly better than him fighting Matthew Hatton!

Even fighting manny pacquiao on or off roids wouldn't be a risk for floyd! Theres no one that can touch the guy at welter.

well who is there? Manny 'I refuse a 25 mil drug test and now may retire cuz I don't want to get in the ring with floyd mayweather' Pacquiao?

    Glad we agree.

Because he sat smartly (business wise) by and let them all destroy each other, while he pretended retirement and fought smaller guys. Won't do much for his legacy though...

Floyd's fighting smaller guys? like shane mosely? Beating mosely won't do anything for his legacy but beating Clottey would?

And if he fought pacquiao he's picking on a smaller guy again right?

    Hmmm interesting...

Try to keep up with tense..."fought" is past participle. "Sat by" also means a passage of time has occurred. And I didn't mention pacquiao once, but it seems your head is so far up floyd's ass that everything said about him means he's not getting credit so you go into your kevin Costner bodyguard role. Point is while there's isn't probably anyone that can right now other than mosley or pac that can at WW legitimately beat him. The division is no longer as appealing as it once was because they've defeated each other WHILE floyd was playing retired or fighting smaller men.. here you go in no particular order..

    SSM v Cotto
    Cotto v Margo
    Margo v SSM
    SSm v collazo
    Collazo v berto
    Cotto v pacman
    Clottey v cotto
    Clottey v Pacman
    Margo v clottey
    Margo v cintron
    Williams v quintana
    Willams v Margo

all while floyd was doing this:

floyd v hatton (small man, that floyd only fought after collazo exposed him)
floyd v JMM (please, no explanation needed)
Floyd v Baldoblaster (not smaller but def didn't belong in the ring)
floyd v odlh (old out shape fading big name money fight, but certainly wasn't a real threat)

So yeah fighting shane is a great fight, but the fact is he is 38 years old and has been in wars, fighting floyd is win win for shane. Floyd however is in a bad situation because he could have easily fought Cotto, shane, margo, and clottey all before pac even moved up or before they tore each other to shreds. And there wouldn't be any reasonable doubt had floyd won those fights he'd be recognized as best since RJJ..
