Try to keep up with tense..."fought" is past participle. "Sat by" also means a passage of time has occurred. And I didn't mention pacquiao once, but it seems your head is so far up floyd's ass that everything said about him means he's not getting credit so you go into your kevin Costner bodyguard role. Point is while there's isn't probably anyone that can right now other than mosley or pac that can at WW legitimately beat him. The division is no longer as appealing as it once was because they've defeated each other WHILE floyd was playing retired or fighting smaller men.. here you go in no particular order..
SSM v Cotto
Cotto v Margo
Margo v SSM
SSm v collazo
Collazo v berto
Cotto v pacman
Clottey v cotto
Clottey v Pacman
Margo v clottey
Margo v cintron
Williams v quintana
Willams v Margo
all while floyd was doing this:
floyd v hatton (small man, that floyd only fought after collazo exposed him)
floyd v JMM (please, no explanation needed)
Floyd v Baldoblaster (not smaller but def didn't belong in the ring)
floyd v odlh (old out shape fading big name money fight, but certainly wasn't a real threat)
So yeah fighting shane is a great fight, but the fact is he is 38 years old and has been in wars, fighting floyd is win win for shane. Floyd however is in a bad situation because he could have easily fought Cotto, shane, margo, and clottey all before pac even moved up or before they tore each other to shreds. And there wouldn't be any reasonable doubt had floyd won those fights he'd be recognized as best since RJJ..

Oscar hadn't fought at 147 in around 5 years before he came up against Mayweather and was in great shape for that fight.
Oscar was the one whom picked the weight class, the gloves, the ring, it was his promotion.
If you think Oscar was out of shape and spent at 154 when he fought Mayweather then you're extremely reaching. Why would Oscar have been better prepared at 147 when he hadn't fought there in 5 years and had already shown he could fight at 154 effectively not to mention his last performance being a domination of Ricardo Mayorga where he dropped him violently in the first round.
Yes Oscar looked completely spent before the Mayweather fight?
Oscar only started looking bad when after that he tried to move back down to 147 and he looked absolutely crap against Steve Forbes and then fought Pacquiao who finished off what was left.
The last fight Oscar was live in was the Floyd fight where he had every advantage over Floyd like I said, ring, promotion, gloves, and weight class not to mention Oscar's title.
So if you think Oscar at 154 against Mayweather was just an out of shape shell you'll reaching greatly to take credit away from that victory.
People that don't give Mayweather enough credit are called 'haters' yet people that try to give him too much credit are called 'nuthuggers'.
In my opinion trying to insinuate that Oscar was spent and out of shape shell of himself in their 154 pound matchup is a 'hater' comment. He should get full credit for that win thats the last time we saw a live Oscar De La Hoya before he tried moving down and looked like crap. Up until that point the only time he looked bad was at 160 when he WAS out of shape against Sturm.

Floyd fanboys just don't get it. Many of us boxing fans are only too willing to give Floyd his just dues. I've gone on record many times as saying that Floyd was awesome at the lower weights. His fight with Diego Corrales is probably one of his most impressive showings of all time... his victory over Zab Judah was equally as impressive (not to mention that I was cheering like crazy for Floyd).
But no... the fanboys get their panties all ruffled when I and others DARE mention that Floyd might somewhat less deserving at welterweight. How DARE we speak against their god? The guy takes a self-imposed vacation from the sport, and when he does come back... he takes on the undersized Juan Manuel Marquez. And we're supposed to bow at his feet and give him his mythical p4p title back? I don't THINK SO.
So guys... get a grip. No one is bashing Floyd 'cause we hate him. But you guys are sure making a good case for the hate. I was cheering for Mosley already. Now I'm going to root for Shane like it was Mother Theresa kicking Saddam Hussein's ass.
Hold on.
Pac vs DLH are you telling me DLH was a worthy opponant that night? at least against floyd he threw some punches.
Pac vs hatton. Same as the above. Hatton was no where near what he was before the floyd fight.
Pac vs cotto Cotto has been shot scince the margarito fight
Pac vs clottey No explination needed. About as meaningful as floyd vs marquesz.
Baldomir didn't belong in the ring? despite beating judah and having the title?
No need for floyd to fight collazo, hatton beat him then floyd beat hatton and now floyd is fighting shane who also beat collazo
No need to fight margartio shane already beat him oooh and look who floyd's fighting next...
No need to fight clottey the guy is a league bellow, he's not even a contender..
Paul Williams has moved up a weight class (why ask the questions of mayweather? ask yourself why doesn't pac fight him?)
Floyd would be fighting pac but someone didn't want to take a drug test for one reason or another.
All the above in consideration Floyd is still the man.
I see what your saying about fighting those guys earlier, and of course bringing mosely's age into it. But personally I think there will always be something to knit pick at, and you can do that with any fighter or any fighters opponant.

Dude you really have a hard on for pacman...i don't care about pacman v floyd, but since you keep mentioning him, and pointing out fighters that manny took on, you only help the argument as to why manny should be higher p4p than floyd...
They both fought hatton and oscar...except manny fought him (hatton) in own weight division 140, where many believed he would be most effective.
But nevertheless they both beat hatton and oscar so forget those two fights...
Manny at WW has beaten Cotto, Clottey, and Oscar two of them were prime in their real division.
Floyd has beaten Judah, Baldomir, then made Hatton and JMM both come up. JMM two weight classes without a tune up. Hatton was clearly not as good at 147 evidenced by the collazo fight.
Another thing is, all of those fighters were in 147 before floyd "retired"...and according to your logic there's no need to fight Shane, because Floyd beat Judah who beat Spinks who beat mayorga who beat Forrest who beat Shane....

If i had a hard on for pacman I'd be saying he was the pound for pound best. I'm not, I'm saying he's not what he's cracked up to be at all. My penis is quite flacid, I can't get excited about pac at the mo...
Hold on they didn't beat the same hatton and the same DLH.
Next your gonna tell me that hatton beat the same vince philips that beat tzsyu, or Khan beat the same barrera that beat morales and hamid...
It was marquez choice to come up two weight classes without tune up.
It was Floyd's choice to fight DLH at 154. so was floyd at an obvious disadvantage to DLH at 154?
Manny beat a shot cotto at 147, cotto who's now gone up a class because of weight making difficulties (and i'm fairly certain foreman is gonna shit on him after 6 rounds). DLH at 147 his best weight class? yeah maybe 10 years ago. And of course he beat clottey at 147. Yes that amzing world beating hall of famer josh clottey! It's a great joke.
Let's face it Shane is pretty much the best WW apart from floyd and manny, and look which one has stepped up to face him.
