ummm i'm pretty sure Emmanuel Steward knows what he's talking about, and i agreed that they should have stopped the fight, i'd rather have the guy live to fight for another day than end up dying from complications or end up in a coma like Oscar Diaz
You're the only one who mentioned Steward. He was talking about Merchant and Lampley. And it was mainly Merchant. Merchant even asked one of the commissioners why this fight isn't stopped. And they were talking about the body punches. Not a lot of guys going comatose due to volume body punches. And Merchant was acting like the fight should be stopped in the first half. Did you really agree with that? Were you calling for early ends to head shots fights like Gatti/Ward, Marquez/Vasquez, Lacy/Calzaghe, Castillo/Corrales, etc. Even if you were okay with it being stopped later into the fight you have to admit Merchant had jumped the gun...then kept going on about it.
Steward was even saying the fight should have been stopped, and yea by the 8th i was pretty much thinking the same thing, why have the kid take that sort of beating when it's not even competitive

and who said that it only has to be shots to the head that merit a stoppage, Caballero landed dozens of hard vicious shots to the body, mainly on the backside of Yordan's ribs, no doubt the kid probably pissed his own blood, difference between Saturdays fight and Gatti/Ward, Marquez/Vazquez, and Castillo/Corrales is that those three fights were all highly competitive, don't see how you could even compare them to the one sided beating that was Yordan/Caballero and Lacy/Calzaghe
