Even if he regains some speed at 147 and throw the old combos like he did against Vargas in their second fight though, I think that'll just leave him open to getting painted with counters all night. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this would be an easy fight for Floyd, but I'd bet on him taking 8 of 12 rounds.
I agree. Only reason anyone is talkin about Shane Mosley is because he looked so good against a finished Vargas. And in the second fight Vargas appeared to have no energy in him whatsoever (probably from trying so hard to make weight). Mayweather would destroy him on points. I bet this would be a really entertaining fight though for about the first five rounds...after that Mayweather would build a steady lead and take the decision...
The wins over Vargas has nothing to do it, it's his demolition of Magarito, KO of Mayorga and dominant win over Collazo that have got people excited.

Even in his loss to Cotto ( a prime Cotto we should add before Margarito's handwraps destroyed him) he had Cotto backing off the last few rounds.

You have to favour Mayweather of course but Mosely is a significant challenge.

He's got a great chin, has never been stopped, has the power to take any fighter out and the will and heart to give his all.

He's older, and a little slower now and I think it's going to require a bit of luck, but he represents the biggest threat to Floyd since Oscar at 154, and is easily his biggest ever threat as a welterweight.

Should be a great fight, Mosely is not the type of fighter you can just count out against anybody, although I too believe Mayweather will likely prevail.

I think this will be Floyd's toughest opponent..

Floyd will have to move the ENTIRE fight. He will be pot shotting just like he did against Oscar, i believe.

I don't see Shane possessing any type of style that Floyd hasn't faced before, but he does have good power and if he gets lucky he could catch Floyd, someone who we really haven't seen how his chin is as off late considering no one can catch him too flush. IM NOT saying he has a weak chin, i'm just saying it hasn't been tested all that often.

With that said.. we've never seen Floyd tire down the stretch, ever.. We've always seen him poised and comfortable and never panicking. If shane wants to have a chance, he's going to need to catch Floyd early i think, and keep him running and hope he makes him tired enough later in the fight to continue to catch him. He's going to have to make Floyd uncomfortable.. something we've never seen.

Castillo made it difficult for Floyd, so did Judah early and Hatton early, Shane can keep that intensity but with experience to hopefully pull out a decision.

I am a Mosley fan and I do not like Floyd but Floyd has talent like him or not so I am going to get really objective. Mosley is a welter and Floyd has moved up. Shane has a good chance of hurting Floyd during the fight and his stamina does help him to impose his will on opponents. Shane still has the speed to connect with a direct hit on Floyd. No one has caught Floyd napping and his eyes are wide open but he has to blink sometime. Floyd never had anyone eally trap him and Shane may have the power to do it and most important, the talent provided he is in shape.
