He needs to get over to the States and base himself there for at least 6 months, no point hanging around Perth going to the football and hoping the phone rings with an offer. He needs to lift his profile in the USA and that means 2 or 3 fights in succession quickly. He isn't getting any younger, he should fight again mid June or July at the latest in the US with the idea of fighting for a major title by the end of the year. He weighed 180lbs v Siaca, can he still make 175lb? Green has fought only 4 rounds in less than a year, time is his enemy and fighting bums like Siaca will get him nowhere.
Forget Mundine, he is a washed up nobody and is now powderpuffing at 154-160lb so it's the US or bust for Danny Green.

I think they'd be 2 credible opponents. Alhough its a bg step up in weight for Bika.

Would love to see Briggs and Green if Briggs hasnt lost anything from being in retirement. But seriously fighting Siaca was more about fighting a guy that beat Mundine yrs ago then it was about being a real challenge yet Green talked it up like Siaca was a great fighter. Some guys were telling me at the pub that Green is unbeatable coz he knocked out a prime RJ (dont think they know what prime means) and Siaca (in there words, another great fighter). Fuck i hate casual boxing fans, they tell you everything and say your wrong but cant name a single boxer in the weight division unless its an aussie and sometimes they cant even name an aussie and then claim to know it all.

Holyfield in Australia. Evander needs the money and won't get a bigger payday anywhere else. Even if Green lloses it isn't all bad, he lost to a heavyweight legend and he can always move back down to cruiser a lot richer. Green has mojo now in Australia and that fight could sell a big stadium out, or am I wrong Aussies?

Roy Jones Jr has a rematch clause with Danny Green, and before the Hopkins fight said that after Hopkins he wanted to fight Green again, as Jones didn't like how it went down when they fought the first time.

Frankly, a lot of people seem to want to believe that Jones is shot, but I thought Jones looked good against Hopkins. Hopkins was fouling Jones all night, and Jones dropped Hopkins with a double left hook to the belt-line that pretty much knocked Hopkins out. Hopkins was lucky that wasn't ruled a knockdown because he was in serious trouble.

I think Green should fight Roy Jones in America under US boxing rules, so there is no hand wraps issue and the best man wins. (I'm not saying Green cheated, I simply don't know whether he did or not but it was kinda shady from how it sounded)

If Green wins, that could set him up for another big fight in America. If Jones wins, he would shake the stigma of his defeat to Green and would make people take another look at the Jones Hopkins fight and realize that Jones was more impressive than Hopkins.

Id like to see him fight David Haye or Adamek at Heavyweight as they are both former cruiserweights so the size difference wouldnt be that much.

Thanks for the comment. I think it's amazing that people reward the type of dirty fighting that Hopkins showed against Jones and don't even want to give Jones any credit for his fight against Hopkins. Yeah Jones has lost a step, no question about it, but Jones is still a tremendous athelete and turned back the clock during some of the later rounds against Hopkins. I had the fight 114-110 for Jones. Golden Boy influenced the judges. They gave Hopkins a 10-9 5th round when Hopkins had blatant fouls including a intentional punch to the nuts that should have been a clear point deduction. Jones should have won that round 10-8 as he landed clearly the better punches in that round.

I haven't heard anything from Jones since the Hopkins fight, but he's probably trying to decide whether he wants to take another shot at Green or whether he wants to take some time off. I think Jones still has it in him to have one or two more great performances, but whether it's psychological, whether it's media-influenced that people think he doesn't have it anymore, Roy is probably a bit on the fence.

You guys think Roy will fight again? Isn't Hopkins like the #4 P4P guy, and Jones fought a very close fight against him. Hopkins challenged David Haye, but then Haye said he won't fight Hopkins. (probably after Haye watched the way Hopkins fought Jones and was disgraced by the amount of rabbit punches, low blows, and headbutts by Hopkins) Now apparently Hopkins is calling out Bute and is willing to cut 7 points to get down to 168?

On a similar note the Australian commentators were pretty embarrasing on the Jones - Green fight. They said something like 'if you beat a legend you become a legend! and were talking as if Jones was still p4p number 1. No wonder the guys down the pub have such a messed up view.

Yeah the aussie commentators were disgraceful for that fight. I was at that fight live and then watched the replay on the news in the morning and couldnt believe they said you beat a legend you become one, nothin but hype talk. At the moment there is only two aussies I will pay to watch and they are vic darchinyan and Michael Katsidis coz they fight the best and the rest of them fight nobodies and I wont pay for that shit.
