World Boxing champion Edwin Valero was aprehended early this morning for police elements in Carabobo state, after he confessed the murder of his wife, Carolina Viera de Valero, she was 24 years old.

Efectivos del Cuerpo de Investigaciones cient�*ficas, penales y criminal�*sticas (Cicpc) habr�*an tenido conocimiento del suceso a las 5:30 de la mañana, cuando personal de seguridad del Hotel Intercontinental Aracarigua de la ciudad de Valencia, informaron a las autoridades sobre el hecho.

Elements of the Criminal & Scientific investigations (CICPC) team, knew about the event at 5:30 in the morning, when security personnel from the Hotel Intercontinental Arincagua in the city of Valencia, informed about the fact.

De acuerdo a la versión policial, Valero y su esposa habr�*an arribado al hotel la noche del sábado 17 de abril, aproximadamente a las 11:00 de la noche. Solicitaron una habitación para pernoctar.

According to the police version, Valero and his wife arrived to the hotel the night of saturday april 17, aproximately at 11:00 p.m. and requested a room to spend the night.

A las 5:30 de la madrugada, el boxeador bajó al área del lobby y confesó al personal de seguridad el crimen. Inmediatamente, éstos notificaron a efectivos de la Polic�*a de Carabobo, quienes hicieron presencia en el mencionado hotel.

At 5:30 in the morning, the boxer went down to the lobby and confessed to the security personnel about the murder. They notified the Carabobo police inmediatly, who arrived at the hotel.

Instantes después Valero fue aprehendido y trasladado a la Comandancia General de la Polic�*a de Carabobo.

Soon after Valero was aprehended and taken to to the Police headquarters in Carabobo

El director del Cicpc, comisario Wilmer Flores Trosel, señaló que el cuerpo de Jennifer Carolina Vieria de Valero, presentó tres heridas por arma blanca. Destacó que Valero ya registraba antecedentes por violencia de género.

CICPC director, sheriff Wilmer flores Trosel, informed that the body of Jenifer carolina Vieria de Valero, showed three knfe wounds. He remarked that Valero, had domesic violence behavior before.

Recordó que el pasado 25 de marzo, el pugilista hab�*a sido detenido en Mérida cuando acudió a visitar a su esposa, quien se encontraba hospitalizada en el Hospital Universitario de esa ciudad, por lesiones ocasionadas por una golpiza que éste le habr�*a dado. Aunque Jennifer Carolina Vieira de Valero se negó a declarar en contra de su esposo, médicos del Hospital Universitario de Mérida si lo denunciaron por amenazas.

Tras reconocer que era adicto al alcohol, el Tribunal le otorgó a Valero medidas cautelares de presentación cada 90 d�*as ante el Juzgado y ordenó su desintoxicación en el Hospital psiquiátrico San Juan de Dios de Mérida.

Desde ese momento, se desconoc�*a sobre el boxeador quien estar�*a bajo tratamiento.

En septiembre de 2007 Valero fue denunciado luego de que golpeara a su madre y a su hermana tras una discusión familiar en el sector La Palmita de Mérida. Tras ser encontrado en El Vig�*a, a bordo de una camioneta y acompañado por tres personas más, fue detenido.

There were clear sign that he was abusing his wife, and the wife covering up for him because she obviously felt threatened. Domestic violence is a major problem that can escalate and impacts on the children. The shite should have been in jail and at least away from her as apart of a restraining order. If I was a member of her family and he did that to my sister, I would shoot the git.

kinda like mexico u only spend fucken 20 years and ur out, not sure but i believe his country is madd corrupt any way...he might actually get fucken less time then usually, its Hugo Chavez

I know nothing about the laws there but the former pitcher Uegith Urbina got close to 20 years for attempted murder in Venezuela, so I'm sure an actual murder will carry a lot harsher of a sentence.

Then again the guy has the Prez tattooed on his chest, who knows.

but thats 14 years for two attempted murder charge, he tried to freakin pour gasoline and triedt o kill 5 guys,

Oh ok 14 isn't quite 20. I always wondered how much of a backstory there was to that one given the fact that his mom had been kidnapped a year or so before from the same compound those workers were at. Interesting but as you point out a lot different.
