Geez, and I thought this was going to be the big Pacquiao fight in a year. Just too, too bad. All of a sudden teh LW division doesn't look all that stacked, after all.

I'm still in shock from the fact he killed his wife!
That's two very talented boxers (that I know of) that have taken their lives withing the last 6 months or so. A real shame.
He had some major problems though, just 6 weeks after his last fight he was in a substance abuse clinic. I don't think you can excuse any of it, the fact is the guy has probably always been fucked up and just got worse as he got older, not helped by all the drink and drugs he was going through.
From what I've rea, he'd beat his wife up on more than one occasion, just a few days ago she "fell down some stairs". Sad for boxing.
I wonder how he passed all of the drug tests? The only person he could have fought would have been Pac, there is no chance he would have got through Floyd's drug testing regime!

Neither Floyd or Pacquiao are going to go below 140lbs now. Floyd won't go below 147. Why are people talking like those fights EVER had a chance of being made... Cuz he beat Demarco at 135lbs? He had decnt boxing skills and great power but how anyone thinks he'd be a threat to any elite fighters 12 lbs north is crazy to me.
He'd have done damage at 135 but that's about it. Any of the elite 140lbers would have lit him up like a christmas tree. Bradley and Alexander would have made him look absolutly stupid.
He killed his wife.
Good riddance.

Edwin Valero's two children, who are 8 and 5 years old, are staying with their grandmother. They have now lost two parents within 48 hours, their father murdering their mother, and then taking his own life. That's something they'll have to try to understand and live with for the rest of their livesThose two children have entire lives to live. I send my heart felt sympathies to the children and families of Jennifer Carolina Viera and Edwin Valero. None of this is going to be easy for anybody who knew the couple. I can't even imagine being in the position they're in now. May the Lord comfort their souls.
