How bout you mention Audley Harrisson or some of these other fighters who you always lament people for writing off. The hypocrisy is extremely annoying.

Rigondeaux I'm not sure if he's mismanaged, he just got out of Cuba and obviously there is a HUGE adjustment period that comes after that. There are some minor questions imo, like whether or not he can be as effective pressing the fight.

Shawn Porter is way to green to think about stepping up right now, his last performance definitely did not meet expectations.
    hypocrisy is annoying? well amat

as far as I know, no one was touting Audley Harrison as the next greatest crossover success next to Oscar De La Hoya. And whenever he had a performance stateside he was ridiculed because he didnt give it his all and annoyed many fans with his safety first style. Now lets compare that to Ortiz and how he was touted as the best biggest star in boxing to have a crossover success.

If you consider the kind of hype Ortiz was getting before his loss and the way he lost can be considered a bust that he wasn't all they made him out to be.

That you cannot deny. Victor Ortiz had the biggest hype out of all of these people and when the eyes were on him he lost and not only lost he was ridiculed for the way he lost and some people labeled him as a quitter and even said maybe he isnt tough enough to be a champion.

if you go from being touted as "the next crossover boxing success and the kid with the biggest chance of achieving that", to "maybe he isnt cut out for boxing and has no heart", all in one fight, to not call that a bust is stretching it.

he may bounce back but given all he was hyped up to be and the way he lost, that was a bust.

He was more then just "a fighter that was supposed to be undefeated prospect" he was touted as THE NEXT CROSSOVER STAR in boxing, and he went from that, to maybe he isnt cut out to be a champ and he has no heart in ONE fight. Are you saying that isn't a bust? Cause in one fight all that hype came and went. I consider that a bust. Just as I considered Wladimer a bust when he was beat by Corrie Sanders, because they were hyping the guy as unbeatable and a heavyweight only lennox lewis could stop, and then he was knocked out by Corrie Sanders, THAT was a bust. Wladimer has come back and is no longer a bust but you cannot deny he was a bust at that time. Just like I consider Victor Ortiz a bust after the Maidana fight, what he does in the future may change that but considering all he was hyped up to be and the way he lost and how all that hype has disappeared, right now he IS a bust in my opinion.
