I didnot score the fight but my overall impression watching on tv was that Kessler was getting the better of it.
When Froch stepped up his game and seemed to start to take over Kessler raised it to an other level again.
Balls
I had Froch, just. That was watching it on Primetime on my telly. I've yet to rewatch. Before anyone moans, i'm not a Froch nut-hugger. I like both fighters. I wanted Froch to win but my scorecard doesn't change the result so being bias would be pointless. I can handle him losing
I'll probably rewatch at some point, and maybe i'll think Kessler won. It was close anyway.

As anyone who has ever read my posts knows, I can't stand Carl Froch and thought he was the beneficiary of a disgraceful hometown decision against Andre Dirrell. But, that was a close fight, I think people saying he only won 2/3 rounds are off their rocker. He had it close and I have to say I was worried he'd pull out a stoppage in the last round as Kessler looked ready to go. Instead Mikkel came out and showed amazing heart to take that last one. Froch looked like he was willing to get hurt for the win, Kessler looked willing to die for it. Their body language at the end said it all about who won.
I had it 115-113 in a very competitive fight where the loser (Froch) definitely didn't lose face of value due to the packed action and the great heart he showed. IT is a clear but decision in a very tough and competitive fight for the Viking.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends
I watched it properly for the first time today and I would go with that. But it was far closer than what that 117-111 judge was trying to suggest. That man needs darts to be thrown into his eyes as he obviously has no need for them. Froch could have won it it if only he had just let it all go. You can't go overseas and let anything hold back and unfortunately for him he just wouldn't throw enough. Kessler knew it was do or die and gave it his all, but I really didn't see all that much improvement on what he did against Ward. It was pretty much the same Kessler technically, just one willing to go that extra yard.
I agree with what CFH has said on other threads in that Kessler doesn't quite seem the same as a couple of years ago. He isn't as precise and doesn't seem to react as well.
I put that down in part to them fighting in a very small ring. Much less space for Kessler to use his excellent footwork. There was never a big gap between the fighters and everything looked a little smothered. In a larger ring, i think Kessler looks crisper and more in control as he'd have more room.

This is a good and fair assessment imo, as I have now watched the fight 3 times and agree with most of the quoted. my score card closed a bit in gap with each viewing but I'm afraid will will never get to, no matter how many times i watch it, a HTH view point.
p.s. You were missed in the chat room Saturday nite, Jaz. But CFH said you were likely just at a black panther rally tho, so it's cool. Next tie buddy.
I was obviously plotting the fall of the white supremacist power system, but I'm also having loads of problems with my internet connection at night (no doubt whitey trying to silence me). Hopefully it will be fixed by Saturday, although I may stay off just in case the Mayweather-Mosley fight causes the board to implode on itself.
