You just have to look at the main board imagine this was Mayweather v Pac?

Yes it's a big fight but 4 million fuck off.
I'm thinking if Ali-Frazier I or Ali-Foreman was held today, it would approach that number, but not this fight even though it is a superfight.

I'm thinking 1.5 or 1.6 for this fight.

I've noticed that the UFC have decided not to go head to head with Floyd this time though after they lost out in the PPV numbers last time around.

A wise decision from Dana White. I wonder what PAC mayweather would do

It won't make 2 millions neither I am certain, I would say something around 1.6-1.8 would be more realistic.

On the back of that Skel, I guess it begs the question would Pac v Mayweather have done close to 4m

It really does depend if they made it PPV universal and not just the States. If it was universal then that fight i would expect to generate close to if not over 3m at the very least. Just stateside i feel it would certainly pass the 2m mark.

Are they counting heads per movie theater? I would think that the fact that it is at the movie theaters that the number of PPV's would be lower than normal. They obviously aren't making LESS money, but the numbers would be down.. strange.

Do Sky ever put fights, which don't involve a British fighter, on PPV? I can't think of the last time they did. All of the PPVs I can remember have involved Bruno, Hatton, Khan, Hamed, Lewis, Haye but I am sure, without doubt, they'd put Pacman vs Floyd as a PPV. They sold 1.2m in the UK for Mayweather/Hatton but I reckon, personally, they'd beat that.

Adding this, and other countries to the US market, I think Mayweather/Pacman would reach, or be very close to, 4m.

I reckon PAC vs mayweather would do well in England. Overall tho I think ppv would be so much higher if it wasn't for all the free streams on the net. Plus u no the fights gonna be on YouTube within a week. It must stop people parting with their mular.

Job biscuit ( I mean is this really apropriate, we've been down this road before, and we all no how that turned out. Think about it, do u really want this for urself)

Tyson used to be PPV in Britain. I'm guessing under two million for the PPV so that probably means it'll be over 4. Maybe over two but I can't see it. Schaefer knows what the advance orders are though so if he's saying 4 maybe it's tracking to beat the record and he's trying to boost it so that it beats the record. But I'll eat my hat* if it does over 3.

*"Hat" to be defined at a later date should it do more than 3. Perhaps a chocolate cake in the shape of a hat.

Floyd belittles Pacquiao's PPV numbers | ABS-CBN News Online Beta

MANILA, Philippines – This early, Floyd Mayweather Jr. appears to have set the tone for difficult negotiations on a possible fight against Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather, who is fighting welterweight champion Shane Mosley on Saturday (Sunday in Manila), said Pacquiao will have to hike his pay-per-view (PPV) numbers before demanding a bigger slice of revenue in negotiations.

"I'm a boss, I only talk to bosses. He need to learn how to do numbers like I'm doing. What did him and Marquez do? Like 300,000? 400,000? Congratulations, he needs to step his game up,” the former pound-for-pound king told BoxingScene.com.

Pacquiao’s fight against Joshua Clottey last March has generated 700,000 PPV buys. HBO PPV's Mark Taffet said a non-American title fight usually doesn't exceed 400,000 buys.

“I average 1.3 [million] with ease,” said Mayweather. “I'm not worried about this [Mosley fight], I know I'm going to do crazy numbers. I should walk away with about 40 [million],"

The outspoken boxer claims he doesn’t stand to lose anything without a Pacquiao fight.

"With or without Pacquiao, I'm still going to be able to go out and make $20 or $30 million a night," he said.

According to a report by ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael, Pacquiao has generated 6.25 million buys and $320 million in revenue in 12 pay-per-view fights.

Bulk of the numbers came from his last 4 fights: Clottey, Miguel Cotto (1.2 million buys), Ricky Hatton (800,000 buys), and Oscar de la Hoya (1.25 million buys).

The camps of Pacquiao and Mayweather are expected to return to the negotiation table if the latter wins over Mosley, the reigning World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight champion.

Pacquiao holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight crown aside from owning the distinction of being the only boxer to win 7 world titles in 7 weight classes.

A claim of four mill from the same guy who thought b-hop/jones was a good idea is pretty funny.
