I've got both boxsets for Oz & The Wire. As good as Oz is, it's just not on the level of The Wire, which is far and away the best TV show ever. I do see the parallels though, as they were respectively the first shows to look at it from both sides of the law, and there were shades of grey on either side. I can't think of a single character in The Wire who doesn't have that one human moment where you feel empathy for them. Even Clay Davis, Rawls and Marlo have it. Maybe Valchek doesn't.
Although Koppas for such a Wire fanatic, you missed that Chris stomped on Michael's step-father not his brother![]()

Seems like everyone's watched "The Wire" except me. To be honest American TV shows don't normally interest me. Except for the Sopranos because im a big fan of the gangster genre.
