I've got both boxsets for Oz & The Wire. As good as Oz is, it's just not on the level of The Wire, which is far and away the best TV show ever. I do see the parallels though, as they were respectively the first shows to look at it from both sides of the law, and there were shades of grey on either side. Clay Davis - that scene in court. You should hate the man but you can't help but love him.
I hated Clay Davis and I was so glad he was about to go to prison. I hated he wormed his way out of a legit conviction. But I loved how he did it. But I loved how Freamon got him to give up the goods on other people.
