The Wire

I've got both boxsets for Oz & The Wire. As good as Oz is, it's just not on the level of The Wire, which is far and away the best TV show ever. I do see the parallels though, as they were respectively the first shows to look at it from both sides of the law, and there were shades of grey on either side. I can't think of a single character in The Wire who doesn't have that one human moment where you feel empathy for them. Even Clay Davis, Rawls and Marlo have it. Maybe Valchek doesn't.

Although Koppas for such a Wire fanatic, you missed that Chris stomped on Michael's step-father not his brother

You know what I meant. Chris wouldn't have stomped on bug. That would've been a tad unfair. Just missed out the word father. "brother's father".

Clay Davis - that scene in court. You should hate the man but you can't help but love him.

I hated Clay Davis and I was so glad he was about to go to prison. I hated he wormed his way out of a legit conviction. But I loved how he did it. But I loved how Freamon got him to give up the goods on other people.
