Yeah, you're 100% right IMO, he was out of his prime a year after he reached it. As soon as that peak was reached he was on a steady decline.
In retrospect I would have to agree. He got to the top, but wasn't able to maintain it for long and there were a fair few wobbles on the way down. Hatton has never taken care of himself properly, so it was quite amazing he did as well as he did. I always wonder what might have been had he gone about things as a consumate pro like Mayweather or Pac. Hatton seemed to forget about picking up new tricks and wasn't really a gym rat.
