Default freddy adu to play for ghana over the usa

American teenage sensation Freddy Adu has hinted he may play his international football for Ghana instead of USA.

The DC United midfielder is still eligible to play for both countries, despite appearing for United States against Canada in a friendly in January.

However, as the match was not sanctioned by Fifa, he has still yet to officially make his international debut and therefore could choose to play for Ghana instead of USA.

Speaking after The Black Stars' win over USA on Thursday, Adu admitted he was supporting both nations during the game as he has aspirations to be taking part in the 2010 finals for one of the two countries.

"I really honestly didn't lean one way. I was born and raised in Ghana, I moved here and am an American citizen," Adu told ESPN's Pardon the Interruption.

I think it will be devistating for American soccer if he plays for Ghana but it's "the world's game" and seeing how the world dislikes America...why bother playing.

America is like the kid you went to school with who hand all the money got all the chicks and who was cool as shit but everyone hated them.

I think America should pick up and move to Mars, fuck the rest of the world they act like such bitches

Nah mate! America was the bully who got rich off of beating up and stealing the lunch money of the weak and getting the nerds to do his homework.

Just thank god you aint playing football in the Middle East, i mean us Euros just dont like you, in the Middle East they wanna blow you up!

And saying that the ref is biased just cause your americans is a bit cocky aint it? "We're so good the only way we can lose is by having everyone cheat against us"

Everyone gets the same treatment, this is the World Cup not illegal boxing.

America might have fought with countries who aren't as big or as well prepared but what's the use of having advantages if you don't use them?

And yeah it is a bit cocky but you watch the fucking games we played and tell me we got a fair shake or AS fair a shake as any other team

and that's the cold hard truth. Ghana have looked very lively and done themselves proud - of course he'd choose them.

...well at least if he plays for Ghana he won't have to deal with the dipshit decision to play a 4-5-1....I mean why not just give up and not waste 90 minutes of everyone's time?

They should have run the 3-4-3 and have McBride, Donovan, and Johnson up front so we could actually use the guys that score goals instead of wasting them trying to out defend everyone

i think the next match has to be overlooked, i dont see ghana advancing, germany is unstoppable right now and i dont think an argentinian shirt grab or even a portugese 45 minute dive can stop them now

Germany havent really been tested yet, i fancy Argentina to beat them. 2-1.

    I fancy a:

    Italy v Argentina
    England V Brazil

    Semi Finals
