Are you sure it's not your jabbing technique at fault? You could be turning your hand over too early in the movement causing your elbow to flick out. Try keeping your fist vertical then snapping the twist near full extension/contact.

^ Yeah, that was a problem also. I started to use a vertical fist which helped a little, but mostly I think its the position and lack of flexibilty with the lead arm.
