I live in Arizona (USA)
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Very raw and frankly on point like Ive not seen from other shows and depictions of the area and post storm. We were sitting around picking it apart like crazy.I dont know how familiar the director is with area but they have done there homework BIG time. The lingo and culture refrences are something else. The stabs at Entergy,Nagin...the power company here fooking had head nodding like crazy. Its really good to see frankly, glad they didnt get bogged down in actual landfall.Love the show.

Interesting post mate. Read a few articles from people who have said it ISN'T accurate or that it doesn't portray New Orleans in the right manner but glad to see someone thinks that it is pretty authentic. Wasn't sure if David Simon had ruffled a few feathers up in New Orleans like he did to certain politicians in Baltimore when he created The Wire?

My biggest thing with it is that in spots it makes the city seem more together,'back' than it actually was just three months after. At least where I was located over on the West bank.Have to remember that it is broken into Parishes here and some gaps in differences are huge.As far as cultural portrayals its DEF on point.Ive never lived over on the East bank which is where the main breech occurred but to this day you would swear it was the day after the storm...only difference being the streets are dry.In some areas they will NEVER come back as before.Hate to say it stands a huge chance to repeat on any given season as far as Levees are concerned. They are a joke!

yes HBO is amazing, you can't get the quality of TV they produce anywhere else. The Sopranos, The Wire, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Treme, Six Feet Under, not to mention the biggest fights and 24/7. HBO is doing a star wars series I believe it's slated to start next year, and it's definitely not a for kids Episode I type thing.
But back to Treme, it's really inspiring as far as being a musician goes, makes we want to get some friends together and just lay it out.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Seven episodes in and the series is getting better and better.
I think I have a teenage like crush on Janette too.
If Kim Dickens (who plays her) posts on her - PM me. I promise you five minutes you will never forget.
