I really hope he moves on to the next round. He's getting golden experience fighting the best of the best. This tourny is more important for the young guys IMO. Abraham, Kess and Froch have been world titlists and fought at the top level where as Ward and Dirrell were still faily green in the pro ranks coming in with decent but not top level experience.

You could argue the opposite. The established champions are looking for a way to define their careers and put themselves in the history books as some of the greatest super middleweights, whilst the younger guys and learn from this and come again.

Indeed. I guess I'm looking at it as either win or lose, these kids are gonna come away knowing what to expect, look for, improve on ect.

It's true, though... I guess it depends what side of the pipe you're looking down.

Anyone with a fair opinion of boxing is in complete agreement that andre dirrell is one of the most hated guys in the sport right now

The anti-fighter. Nobody would ever pay good money to see 2 andre dirrells fighting eachother. If andre retired tommorow the sport would of avoided one of its biggest all time potential eyesores!!

LOL, I think I have a "fair opinion of boxing" and I think most would agree that he's one of the best contenders in the SMW division and a future champion.

I think he was ready to stay down in the Abraham fight, even if abe didn't hit him I think he was ready to claim an injured knee or leg from the slip. his fights end in controversy and he is skilled, but there is something missing in him...he hasn't finished the job in either super six fight, and quite frankly I think ward will give him a severe beating.

I think he is a very talented guy but like every other fighter that's won that wasn't the favorite. Such as Ward over Kessler or him vs Abraham they get the vault of critisisms for other things.

Like Ward beat Kessler down and then accidental headbutts happened and people somehow erase the beating he was putting on Kessler before that.

Dirrell was putting a brilliant performance against Abraham a guy who everyone had made their favorite when he knocked out Jermain Taylor, he put a beating on Abraham dropping him twice, one wasn't counted and the other way around as well.

But people that picked Abraham will say he was gonna knock out Dirrell late, why? because he hit Dirrell after Dirrell slipped on the canvas so they will say that Abraham would have knocked him out eventually. When there was nothing in the fight to really show that Abraham was having any success chasing Dirrell down.

Now if we flipped the script. And Kessler who was the favorite had put a beat down on Ward before accidentally headbutting him they'd have said that Ward was already losing and has nothing to complain about because he wasn't gonna win, and that Dirrell was dirty and knew he wouldnt beat Abraham fairly so had to resort to cheating which proves he has a weak mind for boxing.

To me whenever the favorite in a fight doesn't win, credit is taken away because of an incident that takes away from their entire performance because no one wants to admit their fighter got beaten.

Even if Dirrell had never been fouled by Abraham and went on to win a decision people would still complain about his style because his decision to not get hit prevented Abraham from winning.

Andre Dirrell is very talented and his style suits him very well, so much so that people want to see him fight outside of it because when he fights that style to his best ability he is capable of outboxing anyone.

The only problem that I can really see that some fans may have is the fact he doesn't "close the show". That's the only true complaint I could see for him.

Very talented. Has done exceptionally well given the fact that he is relatively inexperienced (people forget this). For a Yank, he has a surprising grasp of the art of Pantomime.

I think Dirrell is extremely talented but I dont think he has a ton of confidence and possibly questionable stamina. When he sat down and fought with Froch and Abraham he was winning the exchanges handily and rocked both Froch and Arthur. People mention that the ref didnt call Abraham's knockdown of Dirrell but the ref also didnt call the shot when dirrell rocked Arthur into the ropes and the ropes saved him from knockdown number 2....

I just wonder if he can be worn down like Jermaine taylor toward the end of fights.....If Dirrell used less energy running and moving and just sat down and let his hands go I have a feeling he could do more damage....He seemed to take both Froch and Abrahams shots well (until the foul).

I totally agree with your original post, great skills and stunning movement but the guys just pisses me off.

He's good enough to win without running as proved against AA for the most part, he needs some heart and belief in his chin otherwise everyone (myself included) will continue to think he's always going to run (and maybe act) in his biggest fights.

Imo he wont win the super six but will have the title(s) at some point

I like him, I think I like him even more given the levels of hate he receives on here from the likes of HTH. Seriously though, he might just be the best 'athlete' in boxing right now, however he lacks the discipline of other great athletes like PBF & Shane to make the most of it. I hope he wins the Super Six though it would be brilliant to see Kel & HTH losing their minds.

Maybe for his size, but personally I think Gamboa has that locked down right now.

Dirrell is kool by me. He took some good lessons from the Froch fight to improve himself (even though I thought he won) a bit dissapionting for me he's fighting Ward next, as if he's as good as I think/hope he is Dirrell will be out of the competition.

He is a rabbit--a runner. AA would have caught up to him in one more round. I don't like him. I like guys who fight.
