Duran at both weights but what great fights they would be!!!
Duran at both weights but what great fights they would be!!!
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
Since this is an IF scenario, MHO would be that Duran; gets KO'd, or he either quits, or he gets permanently retired, if they fight in either of those weight categories stated above.
Let's see... Dela Hoya quits on the stool then later retires.
Hatton gets KO'd motionless, then is now at present, on the brink of retirement.
Barrera gets stopped fades, never able to get his glory back.
Erik, got stopped, destroyed, and dulled into retirement.
Cotto in full tactical retreat a good part the entire latter half of their fight just to avoid being brutally halted.
Last fight against Clottey easily a middleweight at fightnight, was so scared in the clash that he clammed up into a twelved-round safety mode fight. Phobia of being halted was so great it killed all his aggression. Pussified.
So as with Roberto Duran... he quit against SRLeonard due to, humiliation or a little tummy ache, or for whichever side of the story you deem credible, should likewise quit, KO'd, or messed up into retirement if he had faced the PacMan.
It's an if scenario... so, tongue in cheek!
Duran at lightweight and maybe Pac at welter.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
duran at both weights. duran at lightweight would have crushed pacquiao and at welterweight, he still would have been too powerful. pacquiao would have never have beaten a young ray leonard in his prime like duran did. duran by silly KO both weight classes!
this would be a perfect example of a great bigger man (leonard) having too much for a great smaller man (pacquiao). pacquiao, the great fighter that he is just wasn't in the same stratosphere with a prime leonard when it came to boxing ability. either leonard beats him via wide UD or late TKO.
