@Skel, I also had an N64 that got nicked. But a 'friend' stole mine. I lent it to him and then he rung he up to claim it had been nicked from his room. I later found he had sold it to buy some weed.

As for my own favourite purchase, damn I have a few, most really geeky.

My pda, an Ipaq 4700 which I bought for over £400 when they first come out in 2004 and still serves me to this day. I love this device and even now would take it over an iphone any day of the week.

Of course my rowing machine that dominates my lounge and has prolonged the lifespan of my feeble lungs was a great buy too.

I take great pride in my book and CD collections. I've been a bit slow because I have been studying for the past 2 years or so, but I am back on track with a fair few new things which have been keeping me busy.

I've bought other things such as my PS3, but is that the best thing ever? No, not really. I like to play games, but they really aren't a patch on a good book or a good new piece of music. Films are alright, I guess. But it depends.

The best thing would have to be contraceptives, particularly for Bilbo.

That,s a nice little playground indeed.

As for me, a 1994 Ford Tempo that had 5000 km for 2000 bucks, lasted me around 10 years and was absolutelty unexpensive on every damn levels, almost no repairs (and super cheap when it was), insurances were almost as ludicrous as its performances and I would have had it for a few more years if my Dad wasn,t such a prick and decided to let it rust under 5 meters of snow while I was in Europe. 2000 10 years without any problems and the cheapest insurances, a damn good bargain.
My Alpha gear bomber jacket, have it for aroud 10 years now and it doesn't look that old at all, that combined with a good hoodie have been my main winter gear for years and never let me down on a cold day, I,ve beaten it a lot and still, he lives on.
Jean Hyppolite book about Hegel's spirit phenomenology, found it in a used book store for a ludicrous price when that book is out of print now and many people are willing to pay a load more than its initial price to find it, one of the best bargains I made on a book.
