I know it's all a bit strong, but it will be fun to see Cotto bust him up. I really had no interest in this fight until about 24 hours ago. It's become much more interesting now. The Israeli flag has for me become the new Swastika. A symbol of repression and hate.

On paper it's a bit of a dull fight, but adding a bit of politics makes it far more relevant (for me).

....and Miles has become the new Hitler.

I know you're trying to conjure up strong reactions but moving it to the point of racism isn't cool Miles no matter how you justify it in your own head. Foreman is a nice guy.

No racism isn't cool and I know that. A week ago I didn't really care who won this fight and now I have someone to root for. It's as simple as that, you need to support someone in a fight. Foreman might well be a nice guy, but so is Cotto and he isn't training to be a rabbi. Cotto wins.

I am sure you are aware of this, but disliking Israeli politics and disliking Jews are two entirely different things. The statement about not liking Foreman because he is training to become a rabbi falls under the latter category. What if he was training to become a Rabbi in the US or the UK and has nothing to do with Israel?

I know and hold my hands up on the charge of being an insensitive git. I have absolutely no problem with Jews and no problem with Foreman either for that matter. I was still under the influence and raving somewhat. I am not anti-semitic, but I am quite definitely opposed to what modern Israeli party politics has come to represent. There are obvious distinctions and I shouldn't have allowed them to blur like that. I mean so what if Foreman wants to be a rabbi? Why should that concern me? Yes, very silly on my part.

I feel strongly about the Palestinian situation, I've taken several courses on it because of that interest, but you're just being an asshole with that statement. Not that it surprises me all that much. I hope you just don't have any idea how offensive that would be to any Jewish members of this forum, but I suspect that is not the case. Israel, while a repressive state, isn't even in the same universe as Nazi Germany and only an idiot would think that it was.

I'm quite aware of how verbose my statement was, but Israel is currently in the process of ethnically cleansing a region. They have their own huge concentration camp of people. There are obvious parallels to be made. A lunatic state can be compared with other lunatic states.

I'm not comparing Sweden to Nazi Germany because Sweden holds itself up to pretty decent standards. Israel time and again shows itself as a rogue state.

I will concede that I have been a bit mean regarding Foreman. He might well be a lovely chap, but when it comes to this fight I hope Cotto does a number on him. It's petty and trite, but that's the way I am feeling. Honestly, a week ago I couldn't care less who won, but this is my way of getting into things.

I'm tired of all this US-Israel-Foreman stuff now. It's worn me out and I don't care about it that much anyway. Everyone is calling me Hitler and an arsehole and I don't like that too much. It's just a silly boxing match. It's not exactly Louis/Schmeling and of course fighters don't neccessarily reflect the views of the political elite anyway.

I'm going to go and have a rest.
